Not all black and white: Wests fans spitting feathers

Its not the western suburbs logo its a little magpie on its own. Balmain may not be anywhere on the jersey but the tigers brand is very dominant and pretty much eats up the wests brand. A small magpie may be trivial to some WT fans but it means alot to some. Like i said its not a big ask to have the magpie stay where it is in size in location. _**I also dont have a problem with the idea of a full balmain logo and full wests logo on each side if that was decided upon (similar to wt logo on allstars jersey)**_

Very true and I'm not advocating do it but I would point out the current tiger is not the Balmain Tiger logo. People seem to overlook that a lot - it was a new tiger (well let's face facts it's the Florida Panther mascot with some changes).

It is as much Wests team as it is the Tigers.

Tigers are the main logo and brand. We accept that!

We just want two magpies on each of our shoulders where it wont get covered up, just like we have had for the first 10 years. Why is that so hard to understand?

The Tiger v Magpie animal was an easy decision, ask any kid or marketing exec what's cooler. If I recall Dennis Fitzgerald said years back that he wanted the Eels to merge with Balmain for the Tiger alone. I don't think that's being discussed and its certainly not my point.

Wests to my Kids means nothing, The Wests Tigers in its current form is not Balmain, Campbeltown lidcombe or Ashfield. (I dont live in or near any of these suburbs) We are a brand that isn't and shouldn't be restricted, yet we are known as Wests (Western Suburbs).

That's got to be worth something,

Finally for the record I like the Magpie on the shoulder and it must stay.

Who brought up choosing tiger over magpie back in 1999?? That is not the debate here.

The forum topic is regarding the magpie on the sleeve. It was overlooked for the Yellow jersey and that has been acknowledged and apologised by ceo. Accept it move on.

Leave the magpie alone. Stop turning back to other issues. It means alot to magpie diehards, thats why we are passionate and vocal about it. It does NOT mean i support WT and less than any other fan here.

Please respect that. Enough said.

How bout we have the name 'Wests' just as prominent as the Tigers name? Being an old Magpie i've fully embraced the Tigers name and i know a good majority of other old Magpies have as well. Are old Balmain fans happy to embrace the Wests name? and by embrace i mean happy to call them just 'Wests' like you call them just the 'Tigers'? because technacally, either way you are still referring to the Wests Tigers. I'm sure Parra fans call their team both Parramatta and the Eels seperately. We should do the same

I actually have the 1929 Glebe First Grade team photo on my wall in the pool room. Poppy Reschs was the fullback in their final season. Glebe are my second team.
i hope to be looking over the smoking embers of your club very soon. How are things over at Brookie? Do you still have the fridge?
