Just because it's Wimbledon time....

The sinking of the Titanic resulted in the loss of over 1,500 people.
One lucky survivor, Richard Williams, who spent over 6 hours waist deep in freezing water during rescue was told that he would need both his legs amputated.
He refused and went on to win the Wimbledon Men's Doubles in 1920
