What if your future windows weren’t made of glass—but wood?
🌲

Scientists in Sweden have engineered a groundbreaking material: transparent wood.
By removing lignin from balsa wood and replacing it with a renewable polymer, researchers have created a crystal-clear alternative to glass that’s 75% lighter, won’t shatter, and offers better insulation.

It even transmits 90% of visible light while blocking heat-causing infrared rays—making it perfect for energy-efficient buildings.
This sustainable marvel could soon show up in homes, greenhouses, and solar panels, proving that innovation can grow straight from nature itself.

To all the Rugby buffs:

Tom Richards, WW1 hero and member of Manly LSC, is the only player ever to play rugby union for both the Wallabies and the British and Irish Lions.
Won the 1908 Olympic gold medal for rugby for Australia.
Also played Savers as part of the 1911 team – see photos below.
Played with Manly Marlins as well, before enlisting for WW1 with every single able bodied member of Manly LSC, where he was decorated for bravery and gallantry, including receiving the Military Cross.

The Tom Richards Cup is the trophy for best player of the Wallabies/Lions series, and will be presented tomorrow after the game.
He is an inductee to the Australian Rugby Union Hall of Fame.
