At 23, Usman Khawaja completed a Bachelor of Aviation (Flying) at the University of New South Wales in 2007, all while juggling state and national cricket commitments.

He earned his commercial pilot’s licence during that time, making him one of the few international cricketers capable of flying a commercial aircraft.
