Humans Are Returning to Lunar Orbit

In 1968, Apollo 8 became the first mission to carry astronauts around the Moon — a moment that forever changed how we see Earth.
Now, decades later, Artemis II will take astronauts on that journey again.
This mission won’t land on the Moon.
Instead, it’s designed to test the spacecraft and prove that humans can safely travel deep into space once more.
It’s a critical step toward future missions that will land humans on the lunar surface — and eventually take us even farther.
The return to the Moon has begun.
