NRL All Stars: Fulton Selected As Ellis Replacement

My selections were:

1\. Josh Dugan (Raiders)
2\. Manu Vatuvei (Warriors)
3\. Ashley Graham (Cowboys)
4\. Shaun Kenny-Dowall (Roosters)
5\. Lote Tuqiri (Tigers)
6\. Darren Lockyer (Australian Captain)
7\. Benji Marshall (NZ Captain)
8\. Greg Eastwood (Bulldogs)
9\. Cameron Smith (Storm)
10\. Jeremy Smith (Sharks)
11\. Nathan Hindmarsh (Eels)
12\. Ashley Harrison (Titans)
13\. Corey Parker (Broncos)

14\. Neville Costigan (Knights)
15\. David Taylor (Rabbitohs)
16\. Anthony Watmough (Sea-Eagles)
17\. Luke Lewis (Panthers) –-> Petero Civoniceva, as Lewis has been ruled out.
18\. Dean Young (Dragons)

I didn't run with Carney as my Roosters selection, as Bennett has pretty much already said he wants him (which means he'd pick him if the public does not), so why waste a vote there?

I went with Tuquri as my Tigers selection, as pairing him up with Vatuvai on the other wing would be much like seeing him paired with Tuiaki at the Tigers (two massive dominating wingers).

A lot of WTF members have gone with Lawrence as their Tigers selection; however my selection sees me missing an Outside Back on the bench (as I am assuming Bennett with select Carney as a Utility player, as noted above) and I feel that Lawrence would be the logical choice for Bennett's second selection (based on my selections any way).

I have Ellis in my team but Im Thinking Lawrence…

Doest seem like there is a Do Over option

Yes there is. Log back in and there should be a white x in a grey circle next to each position. Click it and it removes the player

Bennetts preferred positions' for tigers players.

Gareth Ellis - Edge Forward
Robbie Farah - Hooker
Lote Tuqiri - Outside Back
Chris Lawrence - Outside Back

Interesting that he sees Lawrence as an outside back

I think outside back=centre/winger and inside back=halves. May be wrong though.

That did it Thx.

Lawrence in. If he plays well, this should set him in good stead for SOO 1

Just read on NRL.COM that Luke Lewis is out

ustralian and Panthers utility Luke Lewis has been ruled out of the All Stars next month as the second stage of public voting got underway yesterday.

Panthers Football Manager Jason Wrigley today confirmed Lewis "definitely would not be available" for the Harvey Norman All Stars match on February 12 after injuring his ankle in the 22nd minute of the Four Nations Final in November.

Re work required….

I think Robbie will again be behind Cam Smith in all things rep until the blues take Origin back down south.

Changes in bold with Lewis ruled out.

Hard to leave out Lawrence now, but Jennings is still one of my favourite players in the NRL, so I guess that was some comfort in doing so.

… Robbie has actually leapt over Smith in the areas of talent, skill & potency!!

He just needs an injury to prove it!

Now Manu Vatuvai has pulled out of the NRL All Stars.
May need to amend your NZ Warriors representative

Aah come on, sick of all these withdrawls!!

The NRL’s most popular winger Manu Vatuvei has today withdrawn from All Stars contention with the Warriors winger still recovering from surgery to a broken arm.

The Kiwi international sustained the injury during the Four Nations, won by New Zealand in November, and is very disappointed to miss the February 12 match after being part of the historic inaugural All Stars clash last year.

Vatuvei was the leading winger in the final stage of public voting which closes on January 27 when he officially withdrew today, with his Warriors spot on the 64-man shortlist taken up by new recruit Krisnan Inu.

“It is a great concept and the whole week of promotions and activities last year to support Indigenous Australians was a great experience,” Vatuvei said.

“Getting to play alongside players like Darren Lockyer and other Kangaroos and NRL club players was also amazing. I am really disappointed to not get the chance to play again this year.”

The final voting stage requires the public to choose 16 players (only one player from each club) from the publicly-voted shortlist (four players from each club – two backs and two forwards) to join captain Darren Lockyer and vice-captain Benji Marshall.

All Stars coach Wayne Bennett can then choose two more interchange players to make up an extended bench for the clash against the Indigenous All Stars at the Gold Coast’s Skilled Park.

Vatuvei’s withdrawal adds to the dilemma for the “selectors” with Bennett expressing interest in the Warriors winger and his Knights’ rival Akuila Uate, who is vying for a spot against his club captain Kurt Gidley.

"Well they both sound great; both wonderful players to watch," Bennett said. "Only problem is if you pick someone like Uate, you leave someone like Gidley out.

"…Gidley certainly offers far more versatility, but you have to try and get a balanced team, so it just depends if Gidley or Uate fits into that."

I reckon Benji should be captain.

He won the last major encounter between the two nations

i would assume Mark Minichiello would be out of the clash as well, as it is reported he is very dobutful for the titans opening clash with the dragons (so one would deduce that he would be ruled out of the NRL all-stars game too).

im voting for the big pom..He deserves it…Although i see Bennett has an extra 2 picks from whoever he wants added..
Bennett has big wraps on Ellis..(But dont we all)
