Probably better now over during the season as it will be less disruptive. When do they return to training? Next week?

We should hope they all get it this week. I'd be sending them out to every night club and gym in Sydney.

Supposed to return today I heard

Earl, me anti-vax, are u for real, I'm lining up for a booster because I'm in the vulnerable category, think I'm confusing you, I got that info from health.gov.au which simply stated people can get side effects like any vax, anyway care factor 0, got more pressing issues to deal with than going to depth about that.

Latrell Mitchell, “WTF?".

They are NRL players and not Rocket Scientists for a reason.

Yeah and the players make an excellent point. Using vaccination as the ONLY method of dealing with this pandemic is floored, idiotic, and the results are there for all to see. Been 2 years and we still going round in circles.

As it stands, there is no treatment for covid until your lungs are damaged and you cant breathe. You are then advised to go to hospital (ahh too late perhaps?).

A better way is giving EARLY medical care (which exist via many different forms of effective medicines - ivrmctn, hydroxychloroquin, even quercetin). This way people would stay out of hospital, we wouldnt have lockdowns, and we get on with life again

Not correct at all.

Nobody is using vaccination as the only method of dealing with pandemic.

And the word is "flawed".

Do u feel better now that you can spell?

What else we using to deal with the virus? Dont say social distancing, masks etc

Social distancing, masks etc.

Self isolation for positive cases and close contacts.
Critical access restrictions for hospitals, aged care, other vulnerable locations.
Previous restrictions on unvaccinated and ongoing restrictions on their travel.
Specialised COVID units within hospitals and rapid in-hospital testing to identify and isolate positive cases at admission.
Experienced COVID care response for positive serious cases including oxygen support, extra ventilators, antivirals, dex etc.
Free PCR tests for all suspected cases.

Imperfect but an advanced strategy compared to January 2020.

You previously advocated early-administration [censored] - you lose all credibility as soon as you say that.

edit: don't know why ivrmctn was censored, so here it is [sic]

My belief is that those who aren't vaccinate are unsafe so I don't want them near my team.

How does one being unvaccinated have a bearing on the safety of the vaccinated? As we can see, the vaccinated are spreading this virus like a wild fire. Its like me saying "Kul put your sunscreen on so I dont get burnt".

The unvaccinated are more likely to spread the virus than those who are and also are more likely to spread the virus than vaccinated people.

Also unvaccinated far more likely to require hospitalisation and utilisation of stretch medical resources. That means for every avoidable unvaccinated hospitalised case you lose a bed for a vaccinated person who requires a hospital stay for any other medical emergency.

100 players have supposedly tested positive. I’m having a hard time believing that number, but given the way the BBL has been ravaged, maybe it is true.

100 would probably be about right. There are 480 top 30 players + 86 develop contract players + unlimited train and trail or juniors training with the top team. You’d be around 1000 players so about 10%. The numbers in society are high at the moment and these guys are training in a close environment.

Thanks for highlighting my point so succinctly. There is no treatment for covid until you have deteriorated enough, that you cannot breathe, and your lungs are damaged. Then you are asked to go to hospital to be put on a ventilator. Instead of treating Covid EARLY SO PEOPLE DO NOT NEED HOSPITALS! Thanks again.

It'll lower the odds significantly. I'd also give them their 6th booster shot. Alternatively don't test them. I don't know how you manage a competition with a zero covid policy and 7 day isolation periods with how contagious this virus is. On top of that they should be okay if/when they get it.

Your comment makes no sense I'm afraid. You say "there is no treatment for covid until you have deteriorated" and then you propose that they should "treat COVID early so people do not need hospitals". You said it yourself - there's no specific early treatment for mild or moderate cases of COVID. Not beyond standard viral care - pain and inflammation medications, plenty of fluids and rest.

I don't believe there's a drug approved or close to being submitted to the TGA for early-onset or prophylactic COVID treatment outside of a hospital. You can't take what doesn't exist. And if one is developed and approved - it will join the PBS same as any other antiviral like oseltamivir (Tamiflu) or zanamivir (Relenza). They aren't going to withhold early-intervention COVID drugs once they are developed.

There's no conspiracy there, stop looking.

Is this the thread we can talk about Djokovic in? Could you imagine people laughing at Federer or Nadal for being sent home like Djokovic was. Just shows how far behind those 2 he is in popularity.

He is such a knob isn't he. Can you imagine those 2 not getting vaccinated and trying to play games to rort the system.

I'd let him play but the guy is completely unlikable.

Half the testing stations have closed, well in my area at least.

The process is constantly changing...

Wouldn't be surprised if this is the way the government is going to push it.

If I wasn't so disgusted in Morrison lying about his government being responsible for issuing a visa allowing him to come here in the first place and then retracting it in an about face, I would have no sympathy for Djokovic

Sadly I have to have some for him after our PM used the world's number one tennis player as a political pawn as part of his latest deception of his constituency for potential personal gain. Once again at the expense of our reputation around the globe.

Every single player..in top 30 and cup better be prepared

With how the bbl and nba are going with covid atm its likely a lot of players will get a chance

True that. But if they're training together, it's going to be an interesting scenario. With omnicron and shared facilities, I can't see how the team won't be struck down together.

Maybe they just tweak the uniform this year...
