NRL cash might put Wests Tigers' Leichhardt affection to the test

If these guys take this game to the SFS against Easts has there in any sport ever been a dumber decision? I just feel really dumb supporting this team I mean they have been my whole life since Balmain now 20 years 2nd time in and we give it up to the roosters what is the point in even having a team in the NRL

God where do you start attacking this dribble?

It is a smart decision financially.
It'll be good to expose the inexperienced to what will be a high pressure atmosphere.
More of our supporters will get the chance to get to the game.

If your this embarrassed to be supporting a side that has finally cracked another finals campaign then I really dont see where your true allegiences lie.
Thats just what the boys need to hear….that some idiot ( your not the only one here ), supporters have already given up on them.
Fair dinkum....whats the past 6 1/2 months been about for you?

I can see probids pov.

I can also see others point of view, better for fans, more support, better for corporates etc.

However my FIRST thought imo is towards the players, the team and whats best for them in week I…a positive result.
Fans, money, corporates, crowd all come second.
Top four = home semi and the ground is more their home than ours....imo they will get more benefit than us.

I guess though according to some here I too am no supporter for having this view, you guys tell him to wear his roosters shirt.....it almost makes you feel like swapping sides when your opinion isnt respected because its different and your allegiance is questioned.

He stated 20 years....nearly 40 for me.
Yeh, Im no supporter

Ink,
I can see your pov as well and it has legs.

However, I'm not gonna cop posts like this one from Probids where he/she has written us off because he/she didnt get their own way.

The way I see it, our suburban grounds dont gaurantee victory.

I can see both sides.

I do not think however that it is the second best option for the players to play at the SFS. I think it is the best option. Superior surface and superior lighting for a night game when the dewpoint is at higher levels is more conducive to playing good football, our style of football.

It is actually a shame in this respect that we finished at the SFS so early this year as there has been a gap of time since we played there.

I still maintain thatthe crowd makes the advantage as far as home grounds go. That is our part of the bargain if you will.

What I do disagree with is questioning the competancy of a CEO who has codified the JV and delivered us one more game at each of our traditional grounds. I understand questioning the decision but I cannot understand some peoples attitude of playing the man. It does not speak to passion.

Putting your point across is ok but geez you know how to whinge and whine about being a supporter.

Did we actually get any financial reward for taking the game to the SFS? I haven't seen anything official (hopefully I'm partially blind and we did).

A whole lot of people keep saying it's better for the club $$$ wise, but as I understand the NRL take all money from the final series. Apart from a little bit of revenue from extra merchandise sales, what exactly do we get for taking the game to the SFS? Because we're certainly losing our home ground advantage, and giving it to a team who train and play ALL of their home games at this particular venue.

I can assure you the Tigers got a handsome cheque from the NRL to stage the semi final game at SFS rather than Leichhardt….but you won't hear about it officially.
