NRL Finals - Completely Disinterested?

Love finals footy and have always been keen on it despite the absence of the Tigers (minus one amazing year), but is anyone else finding it hard to find an interest in this finals series?

I really cannot get into any of the games or care for the outcome… to the point where I don't care at all who wins and who looses...

The finals system is flawed which doesn't help the matter, but the teams involved... well are boring.

I thought all four games were great, but for different reasons. I was going for the Titans and was disappointed that they lost.

im still interested because the eels got up and the dragons lost. watching dragons lose again next week will be beautiful and I want parra to continue with this fairytale run except of course for last weeks hiccup.

I thought all 4 games had something interesting about them - rematch of last year's grand final, Queensland local derby, 2 weaker teams which could have been evenly matched, 1 stronger teams which could have been evenly matched. If you could write a script with those 8 teams, that is how I would have paired them up.

Mind you, I wasn't all that interested in watching any of the games. I just wanted to see the results.

I'm glad Manly are out but I don't want Parra to go much further. Seeing them get destroyed by the Titans would be very sweet but I can't really see it happening.

There have been many things going against the finals this year.

Melbourne V Manly. Jamie Lyon goes down early in the match from a shoulder injury. Kite gets knocked out a few mins in. Manly down 2 troops. Was always gonna be a walk over by Melbourne.

Titans V Broncos. Both teams dont strike me as strong finals contenders this year, despite the Titans finishing 3rd. A 40-32 scoreline in a finals match? Defence will win you a comp. Nearly a point a minute. No thanks. Finals should be won on the back of getting in and up in defence and giving 100% to every tackle for the 80mins.

Bulldogs V Knights. Bulldogs havent had a convincing win for a while. They always do just what's required. Who knows, maybe this will help them, being able to conserve energy. But yeah, not flashy at all without Kimmorley. Newcastle, well, stupid risk going in with De Gois and Taia in the state they were in. Newcastle have been woeful at times this year.

Dragons V Eels. This was the only game I had interest in the whole weekend. St George were average at best. Parra were solid and deserved the win.

Next weeks games will be … boring. Titans have alot of potential but seem so bland to me. I reckon Parra's got it easy over them. Brisbane V St George in Brisbane usually is a good match and draws a good crowd. Im hoping this game has some fireworks in it. Both teams have the stars to pull it off.

Im paying more attention to the NYC finals this year haha.

Really not that interested so far. Only taken interest with what the U20's are doing. With the recent warm weather in Sydney it already feels like the off season.

I'll be interested this weekend because I want the Dragons to choke and drop out in straight sets.

As far as the other teams go, ill probably go for parra because my dad goes for em but then at the back of my mind I dont really want them to win the comp because I want us to be the only team to win a premiership after being $151 odds of winning the premiership.

I dont want the Dogs to win because of Ennis and their fans.

I dont like Melbourne, the Broncos have won enough premierships already and I dont like the Gold Coast because they steal our players and I hate how some people say that QLD is the Rugby League capital so it would be nice if bot the Broncos and Titans arent there.

So basically if parra get knocked out and the Dragons win, I wont be interested at all.

I have been watching all the games but I don't really care who wins unless the Dragons are playing, and then it's the other team I go for.

I enjoyed the games this weekend.
It's nice to watch footy without the tension - although I'd love to have my stomach in knots watching my beloved Tigers play.

If you dont give a stuff about the finals then it just proves that some people are tigers fans first and rugby league fans second. Geeze you reckon we'd be used to watching the finals minus our team by now.....

Impossible to get excited about any team, really…my dislike is pretty evenly spread for all of them...better dust off the 2005 DVD..

Despite the Tigers never being there, im always interested to see who takes it out. Your guaranteed to be seeing the best Teams (most of the time) so enjoy watching it.

I only want 1 thing, and that is for Parra to lose soon. I wouldnt hear the end of it if they ever won the Comp from alot of my mates.

Givne the rest of the scum in the finals I'm going for the Shed Men and then believe it or not the Dragons. Why? I hate the Storm (for obvious reasosn), I hate the Broncos because I have to watch the arrogant $%#@%$$# every week, I hate Paramatta because they're just scum and Jarrad Hayne isn't a dogs chestnut, and I hate the Bulldogs because they are dogs' chestnuts.

I can actually feel for the Dragons and their choking :laughing: ….. chances. But given the alternative..........
