Also - was watching Latrell Mitchell tonight. His growth this year has been exceptional. Why can’t our hopefuls improve like that??

We over rate our juniors big time, they just are not as good as most here think they are

Crowd 24,588

Richmond V Hawthorn 91,446
Melbourne v Geelong 91,767
Sydney V GWS 40,350
Eagles v Collingwood 85,000 expected

And there is no where near 24,000 at SFS

League crowds are poor in general. I prefer to watch the game live but know plenty of people who will just watch in TV.
League transfers much better to TV as the play is confined to a small area. So much happens off the ball in AFL it is a much better game to watch live.
Having said that the NRL need to do something to address the issue and get people to the game.

Thats true - but the NRL can't keep expecting tv rights to pay their way. I casually watch Afl and have seen a few games live - i honestly can't see the fascination that attracts such huge crowds and yet they do. The only time NRL even comes close to this atmosphere is GF day and that's because its more an event than a game. its just a sorry state of affairs when you have semi finals in half empty stadiums - as much as i hate Brisbane they will probably buck the trend and draw 50k.

Maybe if there was more than one game to watch …........

There were two games at ANZ today

I so very much enjoy this time of the season

Good game , Cronc andTeddy certainly have justified the money that they cost,
It’s great to be watching the best top sides playing the other top sides.
Trouble is , it only emphasis what it’s like to be there and again , we aren’t good enough.

Il be hoping that Penrith can get through next week as they are so great to watch when it clicks into gear for them
And I hope that Brisbane have a continuous case of Bali belly until they’re knocked out, or something worse!

Agree with all of that. I have a feeling the next tv deal will be worth less than the current one. The nrl need to address crowds now.

what are the games next week

Friday
Sharks v Pamfers

Saturday
Souffs v Broncos/Dragons

Hope cronulla rip Gus's pennies a new one

Either that or warragamba dam bursts mid week and washes the scum away

Don't think that is going to happen - Penrith are looking like the side to beat. Can't see the sharks or melbourne beating them. I think it will be a souths penrith gf.

Nah
Sharps will roll Pamfers

Warriors were garbage today …made Panthers look better than what they were .

Nowhere near 24k at the SFS
Why would there. E? Two teams with the lowest supporter base. In fact lowest of low, both of them

Noticed during the Fox coverage the cameras were fixed at lower levels of the the stadium where most of the crowd was located ….. deliberately avoiding wider shots which would clearly show that it was in fact just an average attendance.
So Yes our crowds are really poor. It just shows that people are just sick and tired of how the NRL are running the game, the obvious favouritism to out of town teams and towards big end of town corporate supported teams like the roosters.
They deserve what they get and if things like rorting the salary cap via allowing no cap TPAs don’t get attention in the off season ..... they will just further allinate the fans.
