This is probably the wrong spot but didn’t want to start a new thread:

Fantastic podcast from Matty Johns with John Singleton last night. Very honest.
As I’ve said too many times I believe there is underlying corruption at many levels within the NRL, that for whatever reason, gives certain clubs advantage over others.

Listen to Singleton talk of cash payments to players, paying off refs, determination of ARL to get rid of Newtown and my theory seems a little more believable imo.

I saw that, he told how he raided West’s and Canterbury to boost Newtown, then said much like Nick does for Easts, jokes about under the table payments, then said everyone does it, don’t they.
We obviously don’t, and we have the results to prove it.

@GNR4LIFE But they don't really care about the crowds, they just want to make sure a stadium with capacity of 80k isn't outdone by a stadium who's usual capacity is 25k (and has let some more in because it's absolutely chockers). That would be embarrassing, hence try and get the Sydney one above 30k, so its safe.

Adelaide Roosters has a nice ring to it

Antarctic roosters sounds even better, i am sure that they would get much better support from the penguins there than what they can get in sydney from people

As I have said in the past. The NRL think a couple of flashy ads and the SOO is enough to bring supporters back. Cant help but think league is dying a slow amd painful death. Maybe Greenburg and his mates need to aim their corruption at teams with larger supporter bases.

Pretty sure that's why V'landys was brought in. Beattie had no clue about direction the game needs to go in. Sydney is the heart and soul of the NRL and if the code loses its Sydney appeal then it's in desperate trouble.

In the last 15 years which GF wins really stick in the memory or have any emotion attached to them or to put in another way 'go down in history'. . I would say ours of course, Souths, Cronulla , North Queenland might be the only ones.

@tig_prmz Yes that is right, and the reason for this is, what is in NRL for them to get excited about, if there local team is not doing so well each year, and the same teams win, and the game is biased against their team. Why go through the suffering like we do. Majority of famliies would live west of the Anzac Bridge

I claimed my free tickets today. I have no intention of turning up, but want to see the NRL try to justify the empty stadium.

Can't stand Ricky

Can't stand the Roosters

Melbourne keep pinching our players

Haven't forgiven a pissed Rusty for his disgraceful concert where he bagged out Gladstone in one his final ever 30 odd foot of grunt concerts

Struggle to find anything decent about any side

@Tiger_Steve That episode is worth its own thread imo. Some great stories from a bloke with an interesting past.
