Agree with your observation but today is definitely a step up in class.

Weather wise I think the rain is just about passed. There might be some scattered light showers but very minor I think.
Might even be some wintery sunshine peeking through by game time.
We had >20mm last night though (40 minutes south of Canberra) and >30mm on Thursday night, so pitch will be a bit damp and probably greasy.
Will still be great to watch us beat the Raiders in both grades 🙂

Dumb questions re Kayo.

in QLD. Don't want to start watching and on the jungle juice at 2:00pm when it's slated to start on Kayo.
Q1. Does anyone have any idea how long the pre-game goes for? NRL.com does have it as a AEDT 3:05pm start so can only asume it will start at 2:05 in QLD.
Q2. Kayo gives you a choice of watching 'From Start' or 'Live' so could start watching at around 3:30 QLD time but would prefer to watch the replay later at around 5:00pm. Does anyopne know if Kayo has replays up that quickly?

I’m a Madge fan, but I do think he has the team, that he can get atm, I don’t believe he can go on forever saying he wants him or him. (I don’t think he does anyway) he actually has to coach what he’s got.

I don’t think many coaches have the team they want . But he has assembled almost all of this team with the exception of mbye and Packer.

Unfortunately for Madge both are high paid players in key positions. If he can replace/upgrade both of them in the coming year, I think he will have as close as any coach can come to having the team he wants.

He will be the only coach since sheens who has had the time to build a team.

Madge definitely has a team close to what he wants, for me the but sticking point is this. They've invested in youth, we've got heaps of guys in the 18-23 range who have a HEAP of developing to do in the next 12-24 months.

This is a team that should now be improving year on year as all these young players develop and improve, exactly the same as how Penrith made their squad. Even if we don't make finals this year as long as those players can show good development we will be fine (although finals is definitely achievable depending on how other teams go)

Roosters back-rower Angus Crichton is facing a two-week suspension after being charged over a crusher tackle offence.

Crichton was handed a grade one charge over a 36th-minute incident involving Manly forward Taniela Paseka at the SCG on Saturday.

An early guilty plea will result in a one-week ban while an unsuccessful trip to the judiciary will see him miss two games.


Three other players are facing fines following a review of Saturday's matches.

Warriors half Chanel Harris-Tavita (tripping), and Roosters duo Jake Friend (contrary conduct) and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (contrary conduct) were issued grading that will see them avoid suspensions.

Bulldogs recruit Nick Cotric is also facing a fine after being charged for a high-tackle offence in his side's loss to Newcastle on Friday night.

The NSW and Australia representative is facing a $1350 fine after his 32nd minute tackle on Knights winger Starford To'a attracted the lowest possible grading.

If Cotric challenges the fine and loses, the penalty will rise to $1800.

There were no charges from the NRL match review committee from either the Broncos- Eels or season-opening Storm- Rabbitphs matches.
