Anyone else dumb enough to pick the Knights tonight??

Was tempted ...thought the kickback of the previous week might have sparked them

Not that simple to say they couldve been avoided.... We will.see more this week, next week,.the week after

If so they'll keep getting binned. The coaches won't wear it for long, they'll be telling the players it has to stop.

There'll always be accidental contact but swinging arms aren't accidental - they either keep them down or pay the penalty. It is that simple.

Yeah, and they'll go low and get knocked out too. Not sure what Vlandis will do then.

You do that it’s your own poor technique or bad luck, it’s different to copping an illegal hit to the head/face. Unpopular opinion I know but PVL could be saving the game from extinction.

You were right for 10 minutes but as Madge would say, it's an 80 minute game 🙂

Yep... Ebbs and flows, ebbs etc

My point is, they're constantly trying to make perfect an imperfect game. They've been doing it for years now with constant rule changes. Accidental contact with the head that wouldn't harm a new born is a ridiculous reason to send someone off for 10 minutes. Many is the time a player is knocked senseless when going low through no fault of his own. A late change of direction by the ball runner being a prime example as to the reason. Maybe players with the ball can't change their line within 10 meters of the tackler will be next on their list of making the game "safer"

I think that was disproven yesterday with HIA stats. IIRC, of HIAs for tacklers, 37% were tackling high and 20% were tackling low. Running players accounted for about 30%.

Nothing was proven or disproven yesterday.

Dopey gave up weeks ago putting tips in ..been getting the away teams..

Probably recons there is something wrong with NRL . com but it's just a pathetic display of defending a title..

Regardless of whether you think the new rules for head/neck high are good or bad.

I personally wish the Refs were consistent. What was a send off last week has changed to a sin bin so far this round. In fact a few were inconsistent last week.

According to last week for a forceful head high (no sliding up off the chest or ball) you were sent off. No questions asked.

If that was the case this week (being consistent), then Taumalolo should have been sent off this week (not sin binned).

If you are going to have a rule - stick to it, not change the ruling because of who the player is, or what team it is. If not don't have the rule at all.

Walk up to a bloke weighing 110kg in the street and ask him to hit you in the face. Bet it doesn’t tickle.
