I was watching a game from 2005 just before - it's equally as fast as it is now. We have all simply become conditioned to the grind of the Melbourne Storm wrestling era (2006-2020). That's not how the game is meant to be played. I'm glad it's going more in the direction of the old days.

100% correct , 6 again wouldn’t have been required if teams essentially didn’t “cheat” , staying offside, wrestling to slow play the ball , strips etc

I still think they should just bin players for play 1 or 2 6 agains as they are done on purpose and essentially a professional foul

That's what I'm thinking. I don't the NRL are going to address the void between top and bottom.

u work 4 foxtel mate lol,the word,draft comes 2 mind

Does that work in other sports? Fremantle always seem to be crap in the AFL.

Honestly, I would hate a draft.

Why ?
Serious question!

I like watching players come through the grade at the club, watching them from the juniors all the way to 1st grade. I know it is a little old fashioned but that is my view on it.

There's internal and external drafts in AFL I believe?

I wouldn't mind a draft for players that have already played NRL.

There would have to be a completely new pathway system setup as Rugby League is not set up for that type of system.

The other problem I have with a draft is tanking and is something I despise.

Fair enough..

But the current system doesn’t work .

Just say player X is worth $500k

But a successful/ under the table club like the Roosters can get player X for $430k
where as a basket case club has to pay player X $650k

Current system and player pool is a rort imo

Then we have to do all we can to become more successful, I believe we are on that road and things will iprove over the next couple of years.

Refs did try penalise teams for it one year and everyone blew up and then they let all the teams cheat again.... teams are cheating the 6 agains heaps as well. Teams are intentionally offside more than ever
