You’re right, but people seemed to think the new rule would fix it.

It wasnt really that it was aimed at fixing, that was just out and out gamemanship, kind of like all the cramps a side gets in the last couple mins if they are in front. The new rules were to remove the wrestle from the general play and it has done a good job of that, even if it is a little incosistent.

Back on topic fellas,I reckon if we take the hate glasses off toward the EELs and Panthers the game last night was a very high quality game of Rugby League especially with having a long layoff from the usual trend of footy seasons..
I really think that as the season progresses and players of all teams get fitter the games are going to get better...iron out the kinks with some of the rules changes and our game is going to get a whole lot better.

By all means start a thread to discuss other matters or find a thread that already exists to discuss them..

I agree, quality game. As much as it felt dirty saying that, I take comfort in the fact that whenever they play each other one of them will lose. Ah that’s better

Yes, these new rules have certainly made the game more entertaining but those 2 coaches tried to bore the hell out of the game early one with all those bombs. Thankfully it opened up after that.

it’s just throwback to the way the game was played pre wrestle . It’s now a war of attrition and there is an actual softening up period , play up middle and field position and wait for teams to tire .
I love it , it’s more gladiatorial and have you noticed there is more big hits happening each game now

You might be right about the softening up period. I'd love to watch an old style slog fest in the mud.
