Tedesco playing like he’s still at the WT.

He’s finished
Needs to return his teeth to uncle nick

He’s not playing well

Coat hanger him next week

Joey’s back so good chance.

?

Joey Leilua

He's out for 2 weeks at least in isolation.

Nope, he’s back in the bubble Russ. Ok to play Sunday.

Good, that was a quick turnaround.

If I was having to drive to Canberra I’d turn around quickly as well ?

It's easy to turnaround in circle town.

Lol yes except trying to find the right exit off all the circles can be a tad difficult.

Papenhuysen is a remarkable footballer. Just an outstanding talent.

Yep I’m tipping he will surpass Tedesco as the best fullback in the game in time. We actually had 2 once in a generation players...who would’ve thought!

How bad is that.. Some pretty poor retention there, that’s an understatement.

To be fair though Pap looked pretty ordinary in his lower grade games for Balmain Ryde Eastwood or whoever it was. Hindsight is 20/20, he most certainly didn't look anything too special back then.

THe AFL bloke who ruptured his spleen was out for months

From memory he ended up with around 40 stitches /staples as well

O'Neill missed 15 weeks last season ..out for season

Looks like we are getting the Chooks at the right time next week...injuries galore...Hope Packer has a blinder against Turdesco!

Paul McGregor sacked. Man, what a baby. Blamed the selection committee claiming he couldn't select his own team. What about the 95% of the rest of his tenure when he had freedom? 0-5 when he was the only selector, 4-5 with the panel.

Post match interview, Papenhuyzen was asked if the Storm targeted the Roosters' right side defence, specifically Lam. He replied no we just concentrated on starting well. He also said naturally we play well and have confidence in our ability.

I don't see robotic football with the Storm, or players too scared to try things or scared if they make a mistake they'll be out of the team. The pace of Papenhuyzen, Addo Carr and Hughes makes a huge difference both in defence and attack also provides that constant threat.

I loved the moment when Papenhuyzen fielded the ball and Tedesco came through and tried to tackle him. Papenhuyzen put on the afterburner and blew him away.

Theyre fast slick creative exciting and entertaining to watch... I find us slow boring predictable

Bellamy reckons the rule changes have lead to more injuries from the players. I thought it might’ve been the covid break but they’ve been playing for months now

They’re saying ruptured spleen for Keary

That’s not a good injury at all

I remember many years ago Greg Hartley was playing half for Newtown against Wests he suffered the same injury never played again in saying that medicine has come along way but not good

Hartley was a ref

GREG HARTLEY
Nickname(s)
Hollywood
Born
Sunday, 19th July, 1942
Current Age
78 years and 25 days
Place Of Birth
Paddington, New South Wales, Australia
Biography
Newtown reserve grade halfback was left in a critical condition after rupturing his spleen and injuring his kidneys during a match in 1967. Three subsequent operations ended his playing career at age 22, but Hartley became the most flamboyant and controversial referee of the 1970s. Graded as a referee in the Easts junior league in 1969, he first came to prominence during the three-way play-off for fifth place in the 1975 semi-finals. 'Hollywood' Hartley's dealings with Parramatta, and in particular coach Jack Gibson, reached rock-bottom during the latter part of the decade while his performance in the1978 grand final replay between Manly and Cronulla drew widespread criticism. However, he was also easily the best (and certainly the most watchable) referee during that period and was chosen to officiate in four consecutive grand finals (1978-81). Ironically, in the last of these, he gave an accomplished, even understated, display that resulted in Parramatta first premiership title. The same year he was chosen to referee Test matches in five countries involving every rugby league nation. Hartley retired in 1982, joining Peter Peters to become the highest rating commentary team in radio. After almost a decade at the top at 2GB, the pair parted company after a disappointing period with 2KY. Hartley returned to 2GB in 1993, sans Peters, but the pair briefly reunited in 1995 before returning to the airwaves with 2KY in 2

Storm are on another level. We can only dream to have a forward pack like theirs.

Dreams may not be so far away. With the exception of Finucane, their forward pack all got their start at Melbourne. They were slowly developed and now they are reaping their rewards. Hopefully we can do the same with our young forwards (Aloiai, Twal, Blore, Garner, Utoikamanu, Simpkin).

Agreed. Also robotic, rigid, inflexible, unable to play their natural games etc

Roosters are going to do it tough next week. Looks like they'll have ti dug deep into Uncle Nick's Spares box and pull out the Great Britain winger. Salary cap relief on the way.....

Hang on, we get riddled with injuries and there's no excuses for losing. The roosters have injuries, get well beaten and it's understandable given their injury list. What's up with that?

Next week JWH, Tupou, Crichton and Brett Morris are all scheduled to return from injury. I wouldn’t be getting too excited

Who cares what Easts team they field, if you want to win Grand Finals you need to beat the best each and every week. I am in awe that Storm smashed Easts last night without their best two players. Not many teams could do that. Bellamy is a legend coach.
