The slowing down of the ruck in this game is getting out of hand.

Lewis should have been warned

Not sure why the Bulldogs have Raymond Faitala-Mariner in reserve grade. Good player imo

Really good panel discussion on Fox after Bennetts press conference. Bennetts point was coaches are coaching more slowing of the ruck because refs said they were putting away the whistle. He believes refs shouldn’t be doing this. I agree but good luck! Kent, Meninga and Alexander saying need to slash interchange. I think - absolutely!! Back to 4 reserves and that’s it - once you’re replaced you’re off.

We are getting the opposite of what we had last year as everyone complained about the excessive penalties so we are now seeing the opposite.

I agree with the reduction to the interchange and think it will make a big difference to the game. Very interesting article about that in the paper today! Basically saying it will decrease collision injuries in the game.

@Tiger_Steve Less than two seasons ago the referees were sending players to the sin bin for the most minor of misdemeanors. This season no sin bins and the new rule is that you can hold the player down as long as you like. I saw one play today where a Bulldog caught a dropped ball on his side of halfway and ran to within 10 metres of Souths goal line. With bulldog players in close support the Souths tackler kept the player down until other Souths players came into the defensive line. No penalty, no sin bin. This season's flavour is the penalty try. There is no consistency with referees' rules from one season to another.

Roosters and Storm should be a cracker. Both teams make me nauseous though

Hopefully referee Smith controls the game well and administers a few cheeky wrestling manoeuvres on the opposition fullback.

That Dogs Bunnies game was putrid, Souths aren't that flash, Dogs D is good just got zero points in them.

I know this might be a bit of left field approach but how about if it's a penalty blow a penalty if it's not play on..
