NRL side versus Cronulla Sharks

The 9s for us was very much a game of individual players running around not too sure what they were supposed to be doing.
We have been training all off-season for the 13 a side game and hopefully with solid structure and strategy we will see the best from the boys.

Come Rd1, I'd like to see:
Galloway - Buchanen
Fulton - Austin (but Thomson pushed to bench)

I'd rather not rush Sue or Simona as they haven't had full contact training for a while. Give them a bit of time then put them in the team where needed.

I have to agree with people's sentiment's in regards with Thompson.

Potter has massive wraps on him…

I'm not quick to judge he played most of last year injured and came back from 3 years on injury... So I hope he shines... Maybe the coach sees something we haven't yet?

Maybe Potter has become so used to seeing Tigers arm grab that it is now the norm

Thompson has underperformed so far. He had a standout game against the Storm down in Melbourne last year where we really pushed them. He showed some real venom that night with plenty of big hits on the left edge. If he played like that every week, he'd be good. He's got aggression but like our backrow last year, lacks involvement. I think we'll get good value out of Patterson, he has a good motor, and is a good defender. I think Sirro will also go from strength to strength when he's fit. It's up to guys like Thompson, BMM and Blair to pick their game up.

Otherwise, it's a strong side allowing for Galloway, Simona and Fulton who are yet to return.

Like Willow says the game vs Storm last year he was in everything , but apart from that haven't seen anything more to suggest he has cemented a back row position.
Hope he proves me wrong .

Thompson is the new moltzen I see….

Bodene is my new fitzy!

Not in Fitzy's class.

I dont think Thompson has had a decent run of games without injury to show his wares. Was highly rated as a junior and has shown the odd glimpse - in more than just the Storm game last year. As the racing guys might say - look for a bold showing.

Adam Blair made a great move to prop, was having his best games….SO WHY MOVE HIM BACK TO LOCK?

BECAUSE THEY WILL PLAY HIM TIGHT LIKE A THIRD PROP LIKE HALF THE OTHER SIDES IN THE NRL PLAY THEIR LOCKS

HOPE THIS HELPS

He asked the question in caps

I answered in caps no anger

The only immediate changes I would make to that side would be Thompson for Fulton, and Galloway for either Austin or Buchanan. I'd be leaning towards starting Taupau and easing Galloway in to starting from the bench. IMO we could make some powerful combinations between Woods and Taupau and Galloway and Gavet.

I like this team,

Looking forward to seeing Gavet play

Give Thompson a go you guys.

I'm prepared to give him another shot Spartan , but if he pulls out another involved for first 15 minutes and then go missing performance he shouldn't be there come Round 1

Without Gallen and Carney this Cronulla team doesn't scare me so much.

If the Tigers temper their play and defend well, We should all be entitled to expect this trial Win.

Were both missing at least 5 from our starting squad.

We should be reasonably matched. Assuming a close affair, no blow out either way

That's the worst backline in the NRL by far. Grothe is old and slow, ayshford is slow, wright is slow, holdsworth and robson are slow. Surely Gardner and Leutele are better options than some of the others.
