NRL SIGNINGS AND RUMOURS THREAD 2010 - 2011 SEASONS

i dont think we would have to lose to many to sign cronk. arana has already gone and you can throw in mitch brown and probably fitzy. with those 3 that would free up around 200,000 and i am sure we could come up with another 150,000 or so to get him.

The second plan proposed cutting two of the superstars, depending on the demand from other NRL clubs.
Cronk, understood to be receiving $400,000 from the Storm, has been offered **$650,000 by another NRL club** and $850,000 by Biarritz, the club AFL recruit Karmichael Hunt has left. Cronk is also being courted by new Super 15 club Melbourne Rebels. Surely we are not throwing that kind of dosh at players ?

Cayless could very well be released according to other reports posted on here. Tuiaki is off contract and we haven't heard anything about him re-signing as yet. And is Lazarus also off contract?
 
i think i mentioned this somewhere else on here…..but it probably should of gone in here.

the dragons are releasing cooper, hornby, and jeremy smith to sign gasnier and cronk next season.

Didn't think the Eels had the cash, but they're letting a few players go so who knows…

Yes but aren't Brown, Taumata, Cayless, Lazarus etc all minimum wage players? Releasing them doesn't free up any money if we have to sign other minimum wagers to replace them.

Yes but aren't Brown, Taumata, Cayless, Lazarus etc all minimum wage players? Releasing them doesn't free up any money if we have to sign other minimum wagers to replace them.

To the best of my knowledge they are, which makes me think we'll be long odds to lure Cronk.
 
And even with the salary cap increase, the likes of Fifita, Moors, Flanagan and Tupou will need to be upgraded if we intend to keep them.
 
Newcastle have signed, Antonio Kaufusi (effective immediatly), Beau Henry and Suitonga LikiLiki for the future shouold be good buys for them

Beau Henry would of looked Awesome in a Tiger Jumper next year. The Dragons must be reeling in loosing him, as he was tipped to be the next Trent Barrett… Oh Well :unamused:

They must be confident in snaring another Half from some club for next year...
