Did not think we needed LM standing, looking out with an aboriginal flag draped over him.

This is a football ad, not a political statement - one day they will get it right.

Cam as a kid ....didn't need it.

It’s his flag representing his people. Bet you wouldn’t have an issue if Liddle was there draped in the Australian flag.

Wouldn't have a problem if it was an ad for the Indigenous game... but it's not.
Didn't notice Alex Twal with the Lebanese flag did you... or all the Polys with their flags?

No I didn’t, but I wouldn’t have minded if they did.

Don’t bother arguing with the boomers. They’re upset over a flag the poor things. Apparently people aren’t allowed to be proud of their culture.

I'm struggling to understand why anyone would have an issue with it.

Because he’s aboriginal. If it was a guy with a Samoan or Tongan flag there wouldn’t be anyone upset but lots of Australians discriminate against aboriginals particularly after the drama with the anthem.

Yeah.
All overkill.
Cringe.

Still ok.

I can understand the flag and girls kissing but I think it would have been better simply just having those players that represent that view. To me sport should be inclusive but not political.
Yours and other views that's fine but we are here to play the game. The focus is the game.

Who cares? Do people really not have enough to do these days, to spend time complaining about an ad for a sport they already watch. Newsflash - regular old league fans aren't really the target audience.

Should’ve had GI being breathalysed by the cops , then in the next scene he’s all smiles receiving a glowing reference from Toddles

Great - focus on the sport, the skills, the toughness, the competitiveness, not of the rest of the crap......

Next years ad is gonna be great, tigers holding the 2020 premiership trophy front and centre 😉

That is a far better ad concentrating on the football which is what it is all about.Toddles can stick the one his mob made sideways where the sun dont shine.

I don’t like it. Comes across as a disingenuous attempt to cater to every PC group. Maybe I’m out of touch...

Agreed ...it’s total crap...
It caters for the PC minority ...
Pretty much over the Aboriginal vomit that’s thrown down our throats every other day ...
And when are the NRL going to realise that Cammy is mainly hated by the majority of league fans 🤬

Was getting goosebumps until the "love is love" stuff came on. Totally killed it after that for me.

I would feel the same if they made a point of throwing in ANY political message - my comment has nothing to do with LGBT specifically.

I wish everything didn't have to have a political agenda these days (left or right).

Not impressed to be honest. The aim of it is to highlight the NRL and the pleasure it brings to so many people yet it fails.
One of the issues that the NRL should be proud of is the womens game is in its infancy but enjoyable to watch and hopefully more teams will be added to the comp. However instead of a football clip it shows 2 women kissing after a SOO game instead of some of the game itself.
It should have been a lot better especially using T.Turner as the vocal background and then a younger child.

Virtue signalling is Chapter 1 of Marketing for Dummies and fits Greenbergs MO perfectly.

Pros
Tina Turner, Simply the Best, was the best footy ad ever, so that was a nice throwback.
The modern history of the game, good to include, not overdone.
Tried to include most (if not all) teams

Cons
Political rubbish, don't need it. Two girls kissing, Latrell with the aboriginal flag, what's that got to do with football? Nothing. Get rid of it (out of the ad).

Nobody said there is anything wrong with people being proud of their culture or their sexuality... just that this wasn’t the place for it to be paraded.
Apparently the nappy generation don’t get it.

I don't think it's a "boomer" thing. The fact it has people arguing about these issues shows that it's too political in the first place.

In fairness, I can't see the relevance of someones sexual preference or culture to the talent they have in the game. Can't we watch the spectacle rather than have politics shoved down our throat all the time...I just think people want a place they can go to get away from all the different opinions and just be brought together by something they have in common - the great game of Rugby League.

I'm not having a shot at you...it's an overall observation. I've just quoted your post for relevance.
