NRL Stadium plans to seal the deal

Well Wests own the Tennis courts/club now and the Campbelltown Council own Campbelltown Stadium and the athletics track. I'm sure something can be worked out.

Maybe not easier, but more prudent….if we build a 40000 seater down the road CSG becomes what?
A white elephant, all for the sack of a tennis court or two

I have had a look at Google Maps for some vacant land there. There is a space next to the Campbelltown driving range north of the east-west running Menangle Rd. A 40000 seat stadium will hinder the current configuration of the Campbelltown Stadium athletics track plus the millions put into upgrading Campbelltown stadium this year will go down the gurgler.

So although they have never said it, they may look at a nearby location instead.

A 40000 seat stadium out there will be a dream come true. Wests Tigers will be nomads no more and the 9-3 game allocation will be good. Sydney FC would play the odd game there as too would the Tahs.

The only problem is this ;-

RENT.

How much would WT be charged to use the ground??

If this thing ever gets built, if WT are not given a competitive price they will not use it. They will go to wherever will give them the better return.

I am confident gate takings will be very high in the area for the WT if this stadium is built.

It is an exciting time. RCD Espanyol’s stadium is a fantastic quickly built stadium which complies with world environmental standards and is a 40000 seater. A lot of the stadium bits and pieces are prefabricated and the architects are specialists at World Cup venues. Something like this will make it THE BEST ground to watch league at in the NRL.
I think Australia is a great chance of jagging a world cup gig. We are brilliant organisors and we would pull off the greatest world cup ever. I am sure of that.

The only issue is TV rights and world TV times etc. But if the games beamed from South Africa rate well I am sure we will be in the boxed seat.

Your thoughts ?

Be easier to move a few tennis courts and an athletics track dont you think?

Then you would have to build new tennis courts and athletics ground as well. How would that be easier ? If alternate land purchase ends up more pricey than that then I support your idea.

boohoo a few tennis courts try building a new stadium I dont get your point b bug

Yeh I dont get it either, its like the greenies argument a few years ago against the V8s at Homebush because a few freekin frogs live there….bwahahaha

If they build the new Campbelltown Stadium it will be at the same location. It's perfect there - right next to Wests Leagues and Leumeah station.

This is a correct statement balmain bug give yourself an uppercut.

fair enough
but where would the games be played

with Knewcastle, ANZ and Campletown problably SFS aswell all getting upgrades

I think its good for the area to have the existing grounds plus an additional 40000 seater, but I wouldn't complain either way ofcourse.

I'd like to see some people here post a few images of 40000 seat stadius to see what we could get.

Wals-Siezenheim Stadium
Salzburg (Austria)
30 000 seats
built in 2007

I like the see through roofs. Add more seats and I like this one. Hang on, I like most of them.

We struggle to fill a 25k stadium with 3 games a year. How bad would a quater filled stadium look.

It doesnt fit 25 k.

But we regularly get crowds bigger than 25k at modern stadia, you reckon facilities and capacity may have something to do with it?

All I'm saying is that with the accessability of CS, combined with it apparently being our future, that it would be able to attract better crowds than what it currently does.

Sorry , your two posts seem to contradict each other. Do you think we would get bigger crowds at the new stadium or the same/less?
