NSW Cup Team Announcement: Round 12

Tue 26th May, 04:45PM

Wests Tigers NSW Cup Head Coach Paul Fletcher has named his Round 12 side to take on the North Sydney Bears on May 30 at Leichhardt Oval.

Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 10:40am AEST with the match to be shown live on Fox Sports 1.

After suffering a 26-14 loss to Wyong last weekend at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, Fletcher’s side will be bolstered by the return of Jack Buchanan, Delouise Hoeter, Brenden Santi and Lamar Liolevave (18th man) from the NRL side.

Tim Moltzen has been ruled out for between four and six weeks with a shoulder injury, however five-eighth Penani Manumalealii returns this week to partner Josh Drinkwater in the halves.

Skipper Joel Luani moves from the five-eighth back to hooker, forcing Manaia Cherrington to a five-man interchange bench featuring Mark McCormack; who played his first NSW Cup game last week against Wyong.

McCormack was one of four Holden Cup players (Marion Seve, Tiawharangi Aranui and Thomas Grealy) to make their NSW Cup debuts last week, with another set to get his chance this weekend in Mason Cerruto, who has been named to start on the wing.

Very odd that Cerruto isn't good enough for NYC yet plays NSW cup. McCormack doesn't have the size yet for nsw cup yet either. Though Sirro jnrjnr needs the gametime in NYC. This team is chock full of back rowers, not sure of the need to play mcC. A prop like Felise maybe.

Have been wondering about Cerutto..he looked physically strong in the NYC games I saw him play and the equal or better of our backs . If he hasn't done something bad then maybe they are grooming him in the background for bigger things next year

Wests Tigers lead Souff's Bears 4-0 15mis gone..

Wests Tigers defensive structure hold Bears out for 4 consecutive sets…

And now it's 16-0 after 30 minutes through tries to Sila and Santi. And there's Aaron Woods on the sideline!

Norths are there for the taking. Sila held up now but WT looking dangerous again. Last try was from a Cherrington bust up the middle. Error now with the pass over the sideline ala Benji Marshall's golden years.

Norths try as Milone does his best speed bump impersonation on the Bears second rower. 4-22 with the kick to come to now which misses. Close to HT.

A dud kick from Drinkwater goes nowhere near a Tigers attacker after we got the ball back straight after the kick off.

Half time.

Half- Time Wests Tigers 22 Bears 4..

Tries Drinkwater Sila Milone Santi Goals Quadja 3/4..

Really interested to see what they do in the 2nd 40….

Santi and Buchanan were very good. Drinkwater's kicked 40-20, and a few good short kicks.
Charrington shall play at 9, Luani while good in defence is too slow and does not offer much in attack. Lets hope for the same effort in te 2nd half.

Bears score under the posts…Wests Tigers 22 Bears 10...20mins to go..

2nd half so far...meh

And another Bears try from the next set. Defence is deadset ordinary this half up the middle. Kick misses but Tigers are really struggling now Norths have some ball. Plenty of mistakes by us. Pretty much just like our NRL team. Bears making big ground. Need the ball.

And yet another error first tackle. Don't deserve to win this.
