NSW Cup Team ROUND 1

Guess the big winger we got from the Dogs (Sila), hasn't impressed the coaching staff! Think Balmain Boy will be happy with that!

I wouldn't say i'm happy, i want all of our players to be superstars!

But he's just a limited player with a lot of inefficiencies. Some fans thought that as we bought him the same time that we traded Koro for Lodge that Sila would be in or around the NRL side by default.

He's good depth to have as a backup. Hoeter is decent as a winger and with McD at the back Rowe has to go somewhere.

Looks like there will be a lot of rotation early on this season. Can't see Sita lasting too long at 6\. Not sure why JT wants to trials that as he doesn't have any real ball skills apart from an offload. Luani will spend time at 6 and Cherrington will probably come on st about the 2 min mark.

Not sure how I feel about Fine in the back row. Yes by the end of his career he will certainly be a back rower, but given our quality young backrowers already coming through (eg having Funaki on the bench) it might make more sense to have him in the centres still. We'll have to see how Lulia goes. I sure wish him well given the determination he's shown in coming back from a serious injury, however even when fully fit he was a pretty limited player. Fine is definitely in the Halatau mould.

Love your inside knowledge BB! I hope Sila improves as would love another Tuiaki style winger.

Do you think Sita is only there as a fill in until mid year when Martin might make the jump? I can only think that that is the reason for it as he offers very little from a ball playing perspective. Or maybe until Moltzen gets back…

No surprise on Sila. Total inability to read play in defence and a jersey grabber when he is in position. Runs the ball well but is nowhere near Koribete ( and we know how he defends)

With Nofa coming back the State Cup will get a winger back. Hopefully it sees Rowe shipped off to Ron Massey Cup.

The worst fullback I have witnessed in years

HEEYAHH!
Hat trick to Sila and that should put it beyond doubt for us. Up 22-14 ktc with 3 or 4 minutes left
76'— Great work in the build-up from Funaki, who broke the line and ran 40m before Drinkwater placed a perfect kick! #VBNSWCup #WTLive

Great start for the team and the club, hopefully there will be players in the squad putting pressure on the NRL players for a position.

Top stuff!
How was Sita at 6 Wagga Tiger?

he didn't get much of a mention to be honest, from what i could piece together he played alot of second row in the second half with luani at 5/8

Good result for the team yesterday. Glad to see Sila bag a hattrick and Drinkwater star again.

Always good to see one of our players get a hat trick. Would be interested to hear how the rest of his game was, and how much he had to do for the tries. Did he beat a number of guys to score, or simply catch the ball and put it down after being put in a gap…?

No surprise to see Luani play 5/8\. And from the sounds of it Funaki was the pick of a very strong forward pack. Made a few line breaks, scored offloaded, and hopefully defended well.
