Laurie Daley has opened up about the snubbing of the in-form Paul Vaughan, saying that he lacked the consistency needed to be picked for rep footy.

"I think it's about being able to produce consistent football over a period of time. Paul is a guy who is playing good footy at the moment, but we need him to do it for a period and continue to do it over on the Origin arena," Daley said.

"All the other guys who got picked in front of him deserved to be here.

"We've always wanted plenty of depth. Now that the team's picked, I hope everyone gets behind us and supports us."

What a load of rubbish.

SO if a guy is the best prop in the comp over 10 weeks and you pick a bunch of blokes who are extremely out of form because they were good last year. :brick:

Pick the best side that is currently available, not the best side of 2015

Daley is a clueless dribbler,Boyd,Vaughan,De Belin,Maclean,Junior Paulo are all props that are going better than Woods or Klemmer.

James Roberts' papers must be marked never to rep, whether its because hes playing for a QLD club, or its just because he's a flog…Id say its the former, because Fafita, Hayne, Fergo and klemmer made the team

Hayne and Peats play for a QLD team.
NSW could of picked a much stronger team, Klemmer shouldn't of got picked before Vaughan. Hayne is lucky to be there, is not a centre and hasn't been setting the world on fire in the NRL- Lozza must love spooning Jarryd in camp whilst Haynsie whispers his list of "dreams" into his ear. Dylan Walker should of got a centre spot on recent form.
Peats is mud, Farah would of done a better job.

That is a weaker side than i expected, albeit with a strong bench. QLD let the blues off the hook a bit by leaving Slater out but you guys ommitting the likes of Walker, Roberts, Vaughn and Farah is stupid.

this may be our best chance to win in the longest of times

no scott, JT, slater, GI and Parker

i've got my money on NSW this year despite a few dodgy players in the team

Imagine James Roberts & JAC playing together for NSW.

I think Roberts has improved himself alot and deserves a shot in origin, the chances are that Dugan will get (fake) an injury then suddenly a centre spot is up for grabs.

As you said, we have a number of grubs in our team - why not pick 1 more.

You earn 30k an Origin game Benny, don't think he will fake one this time haha

Take those 5 out of any side in the history of the game and theyll struggle. That said, JT is made of iron and will probably play. Qld 2-1.

Im a little surprised at the Farah ommission, He still a very solid player.

Hows Peats it terms of defense??

194 tackles and 11 missed in 2017

Obviously they want someone solid, wont try to do as much with the ball as Farrah but I think thats what they want.

NSW would of been better off pulling Mitch Rein out of reserve grade than picking Peats IMO. Looks like the Sterlo Parra connection got Peats over the line. Would be surprised if he doesn't get owned next Wednesday night TBH.

…early in his career, good judges could tell the fiesty hooker had the goods to make it on the game's biggest stages.

That was never more evident than in a South Sydney Rabbitohs training session, some eight years ago when the 18-year-old hooker went head-to-head with a bully.

Gorden Tallis has revealed the moment an 89kg Peats wanted to kill 124kg Dave Taylor at a pre-season camp in Coffs Harbour.

According to the former Bunnies assistant coach, it was the moment that proved Peats had what it takes to be a star of the game.

"Nathan actually wanted to fight Dave Taylor. We were at Coffs Harbour in a training camp and Dave Taylor hit him off the ball," Tallis told The Daily Telegraph.

"’Peatsy’ got the *censored*, big time, he really got into it. So Peats then flies out of the line and hits Dave Taylor.

"Taylor went sideways and ended up on his arse. Peats stood over him like when Ali decked Liston."

Disappointing not one player from our club was selected. We need to start signing some of these young guns.

Whoever is playing on the left hand side for NSW is gonna get a lot of ball. Peats is rubbish passing left to right so he favours just driving to the left.

Well one side getting quick ball is better than whats happened the last few years.
I like the team, nice big three quarter line.
