NSW ORIGIN SQUAD

Then MM you have some of the best props in the NRL (Hannant ,Petero ,Myles, Scott and Shillington) taking it to inexperienced props having to play extra game time

The last thing that T Rex is going to need after a very lengthy lay off , don't you think ??

You need a two prop rotation off the bench in SOO

I see what Stuarts thinking is Hang in there early and hope the skills and mobility of the NSW pack can bring it home

The problem is that it has only worked once the other times it is game over by half time

A 4th prop would be nice, but I am confident in the team Sticky has named. The difference between Qld and NSW is Qld have 4 world class props and plenty of quality back rowers whereas NSW have 1 world class prop (Gallen) and a few good props and half a dozen world class back rowers who all find their way in the side. Stuart will take in similar game plans to last year, in all 3 games last series we lost the first half and won the second half, (only in game 3 was it a blow out). If the Blues are within 10 of Qld at the hour mark they'd be confident of being able to use their speed and mobility to run them down.

Personally I would of went with

Sims>creagh
Galloway > merrin
Merritt > hayne
Lawrence > Jennings

This team lacks go forward with a very light back row full of defensive players rather then meter eaters u couple that with a one prop rotation it's not a good look

And our spine to get us over the line again

Mate getting close isn't good enough Stuart said he was going to take some chances and he hasn't really

Maybe Farah at hooker , but apart from that its the same cannon fodder rehashed that you keep throwing up against us and we keep beating comfortably

what a horrible side another 3 -0 whitewash on the way

Come and join us in Qld Damo

Just think what it would be watching the live thread and not being able anything to criticise because you are watching a well coached and well drilled side

Won't even make you show up to tackling practise

I think the 'risks' he was talking about has been selecting Tony Williams despite being out for 7 weeks, picking out of form attacking players such as Hayne and Jennings. And picking a more attacking 5/8 in Carney over Soward. Besides that, I would say he would class Farah's selection as a 'risk' as well because he is creative where as he could of taken a conservative option and picked Hinchcliffe instead.

I think that's what he views as risky selections where as we probably class risky selections as bringing in young guys like Aaron Woods and Tariq Sims as well.

I actually honestly think we are a great chance of winning this match and the series, which is something I havent felt since probably 09.

And yet he picked Jamie Buhrer…

Shows you how much of a shocking selection it was when I forgot about him already when I was making my previous post

Agreed, there is plenty of risky selections here. I like that he sticks with proven origin performers (Hayne, Jennings, Bird, Lewis) even if their club form isn't great. If he wanted to play it safe he could've picked a defensive 17 like Bellamy did (we won 1/7 live games under his coaching, 2/9 games in total). He could've gone with another kid or two, but there is already 3 debutons in the starting pack/bench, they can always bring in a Woods or a Sims for game 2 or 3 if they need to.

exactly what i thought.
unlike most people, i dont mind creagh, because he will be the one running and thurston and cronk all day and do it quite well.

i dont mind the team tbh. i think watmough's injury is the reason for him not getting picked. as for merrin, i think he played all three games last year? and didnt do anything wrong, ran hard in whatever little time he got.

however, who will play right centre? never seen morris play right, jennings looked clueless on the right last year. probs gonna be jennings though.

The problem a lot of these players have is mentally they are already beaten

Look at Poms in the cricket They realized playing the same guys series after series was madness so they made a fair few changes Different combinations that Australia would be unfamiliar with

NSW need to do the same Yeah sure keep the blokes you know are going to show up and bleed through the eyeballs

Luke Lewis ,Paul Gallen Robbie Farah ,Mitchell Pierce , Todd Carney and build a new team around them

We did it and look at the results

You need to right off maybe even 2 series and stick with them until they succeed

I don't mind Creagh, but he is a watered down Tariq Sims. Sims has more venom in defence, has a better offload and is a stronger ball runner, he would be much more effective off the bench. bringing him and T-Rex into the game together, one on each side hitting it up at the halves would be awesome. I agree about Watmough though, Ricky's big issue is picking players who aren't fit from the start. Watmough is another guy who is a proven origin performer and doesn't take a backward step. His game 3 in 2009 was one of the best origin performances ever.

I'd personally put Jennings/Pearce/Uate on the right (all 3 are capable in defence) with Morris/Carney/Hayne on the left.

I do. He's soft, and there are plenty of others doing the same thing. Stewart, Hoffman, Bird all do it and usually better. Who's going to defend the middle? Farah and Gallen will be stuck doing the hard stuff while Creagh will be seeking out the littlest guy he can bully but he'll run a mile from the QLD forwards.

They stuck with Ennis for over two seasons, and we all saw how that worked out. Pick Bird because he always lifts for Origin, but leave out the players that have never performed in Origin.

I like the team players generally, but it is unbalanced. Our pack is lightweight. Tamou is big, and that's about it. Players like Bird would be awesome in a big pack, but with Stewart, Lewis and Gallen and Farah, it's tiny. Looks great in attack running at the fringes, but when QLD dominate in the guts, NSW will inevitably be playing for scraps. When in doubt, go big. Where's Galloway? Woods? TLL? Sims? Too little, but will they wait until its too late??

I'm convinced Ricky Stuart is still suffering from concussion during his playing days. My God, my God.

Creagh and Morris boys should never be allowed near origin after being so soft in previous years.

Sims would have been a much better choice than Creagh and the bench definitely needed more size. Lewis and Bird can cover for utility if needed rather than our central attacking players being worn down with too much defensive duties.

Would have had Mini at the back, at least he won't let the ball bounce and will give 110% all game. I'll be happy to be proven wrong if the Stewart brothers can combine though (as long as the snake catches bombs).

Bozo's grubby fingerprints are all over this side. If/when NSW fails the clean-out should start at the top not the bottom.

Queensland $1.60 with most bookies to win the series. That's giving money away.

Queensland are already firming up - I place $50 on QLD this morning, and they had already moved into $1.55
