Gallen 6 no repeat of Origin II
Ennis 4 poor kicking and ineffectual
Mannah. 6 Solid but didn't set the world on fire

Gidley -1 is that score even possible?! It looked that way
Galloway 5 (not applicable?) not much opportunity
Lewis 8 how good is he?! Always dangerous
Watmough 4 ran sideways all night

Thoughts??

Pretty accurate, not sure where NSW goes from here but Ricky has shown he hasnt got anything more to offer then Bellamy.

I'd take a point off "the worlds best halfback" and give it to Stewart otherwise…pretty good assessment.

Minichello 2 Poor game
Morris 7 Made some good runs, mixed with a few mistakes, still probably his best game at this level
Hayne 7 Played okay considering he was out of position, came alive at the end
Gasnier 6 good defence, weak attack
Uate 7 some good runs
Soward 6 went okay
Pearce 3 Well below his best
Bird 8 NSW's best player
Stewart 6 strong defence, that's about it
Creagh 5 did okay
Gallen 7 Got through a mountain of work
Ennis 4 Not a lot of game time, made no impact
Mannah. 5 Very little game time

Gidley 3 Well below his best
Galloway 4 Much like Ennis, very little game time and little impact
Lewis 7 Made an impact off the bench again, criminal that he was left out of game one
Watmough 5 Not his strongest game, but was far from NSW worst.

QLD kicking game was unbelievable in the first 30 minutes and i personally think that was the main difference between the sides because they made all the blues look bad, although Pearce and Minichiello both had shockers. The head start was too big and the massive possession took too much juice from the Blues tank. Great effort to come back and make the score line respectable but QLD deserve the win 100%

I think Gallen made something like 50 tackles and made a few big runs so would have him and Bird as my stand outs for the blues side.

Here's my team rating;

Minichello 2 - Very poor game. Cost us possession and tries with his mistakes and bad judgement
Morris 6 - Made some decent runs when in space and some important tackles
Hayne 7 - Played well in the second half and was one of our more dangerous players with the ball
Gasnier 5 - mix of good and bad defence, could have done more in attack
Uate 7 - some good runs, but no where near as involved or as dominant as in Game 2
Soward 7 - went okay in patches. Much better than Pearce when he had the ball
Pearce 2 - totally ineffective. Hardly ran to the line, no impact at all. Forgot he was there at times
Bird 8 - Played his heart out and made some important tackles and runs. Easily one of NSW best.
Stewart 6 - strong defence and a few good runs
Creagh 5 - decent performance but didn't do anything special or memorable
Gallen 8 - Must have done 50 tackles plus some very good hit ups and line breaks. One of NSW best. Ennis 4 - Hard to rate due to little game time
Mannah 5 - Hard to rate due to little game time. Good defence at times though

Gidley 3 - dropped balls, threw bad passes, useless kicks. He was so much better in Game 2
Galloway 4 - Same category as Ennis and Mannah. Not enough game time to rate
Lewis 7 - Played well off the bench in a side going backwards. He's a great team player
Watmough 5 - solid defence and didn't make many errors compared to others, but nothing special either

Pearce is the best half in the competition isn't he . Just ask Ricky . :roll

Nah mate….he said THE WORLD :roll

That kid is a myth.

I can't believe Stuart said this :crazy
I'd give Watmough more than a 4 or 5 rating - thought he was quite dangerous at times tonight.

I think he was trying to fire the kid up. I think he knew his comments would be met with serious criticism and he probably was hoping Pearce would use it as motivation to go out and prove them wrong.

Pearce is a terrible player. Minichello and Gidley have had their moments but they were terrible.

The use of Galloway should be applauded. Seriously why even pick him if your going to give him 10 minutes.

Gallen, Lewis, Soward and Stewart are the only ones I would have handed their match fee to last night. Gallen was still stellar for mine. 50 tackles and 18 hit ups in a side that had absolutely no possession. He was hard to put down all night and still got the ball away on a few occasions.

The rest aren't worth feeding. Minichello & Pearce brought the Roosters blistering form to the big stage and were comical. Gidley has surely played his last Origin game. But we say that after every Origin game so I figure he'll be first picked for next year.

Hayne & Archer should be geting a 6+ for NSW… Great effort in trying to keep the game reasonable/respectful. I'm sure the NSWRL will be personally signing thier paychecks - DISGRACEFUL!!!

On a side note, does Gallen get fined for his comments in relation to the Referee's?

Nsw sem to have a catelogue of players who own numerous rep jerseys yet have never produced at this level.

Gidley, Ennis, Pearce, Creagh, Gasnier, Morris….if these guys were QLDers, they wouldnt have 15 SOO games between them yet as NSW stalwarts they have a combined total of 55+. Dont be surprised to see them all selected again next year.

I think if NSW were full strength a few of those blokes would not of seen the light of day , let alone played Origin . Gee Glen stewart was back to his grubbiest best last night . I hope someone splits him in half when we play Manly

I don't get the Bird love. The amount of times he fell off tackles and laid there trying to milk penalties was terrible.

An unbiased assessment lol.

Minichello - 2 - very poor game. Nothing came off for him. Must be shattered this morning.Get rid of him.
Morriss - 5 - average game from him. About as good as he gets at this level. Really is a wasted position. Get rid of him
Hayne - 6 - looked dangerous towards the end when QLD had clocked off. Needs to be fullback next year. He's a keeper.
Gasnier - 5 - Defended ok, attacked ok…he was just ok. Get rid of him
Uate - 6.5 - not as affective as games 1&2 but still had a go He's a keeper.
Soward - 6.5 - Mostly hid in defense but did provide some spark in attack He's a keeper
Pearce - 4 - Way too overhyped. Goes missing for extended periods. Cant control the game. Get rid of him.
Bird - 7 - Agree with Smeg, he was good without being outstanding. He's a keeper.
Stewart - 6.5 - Tried hard but was used wrong. Strong defense but limited attack. He's a keeper
Creagh - 5 - Like always at this level was just ok. A lot like Gasnier. Get rid of him.
Gallen - 8 - Top game from him again. My man of the series. He's a keeper.
Ennis - 4 - Didnt do much. Doesnt offer much. Get rid of him.
Mannah - 5 - Didnt get the chance to shine. Was solid while out there. He's a borderline keeper.
Gidley - 3 - Really surprised he was so bad. Got to play most of the match and was terrible. Get rid of him
Galloway - 3 - Got very little game time and was mostly not noticed. He's a borderline keeper.
Lewis - 6.5 - Great impact off the bench. He's a keeper.
Watmough - 6 - Good impact off the bench. Just behind Lewis for effectiveness. He's a keeper.

So by my estimations, at this stage I think you need a new fullback, new winger, 2 new centers, new half, new backrower, 2 new props, new hooker and a new utility.

Only definites from this years side for next year for me : Gallen, Hayne, Uate, Soward, Bird/Stewart, Lewis and Watmough.

All the rest should be selected on form from March 2012 on.

Stryker
Fullback Dugan
Winger Gordon
Centres Lawrence and Hayne
Half Proably Mullen

Sounds good. Hopefully another utility will step up as Gidley only plays 1 good game per series.
