A lot of our best players are getting pretty old. I could see a guy like Luke Lewis opting not to run around again tbh.

Carney and A Reynolds should be the halves.

Same team bar Pearce and Maloney. Pearce has had too many chances, yet continues to land passes on foreheads. Maloney just doesn't have any spark whatsoever.

Hasn't Lyon vowed not to play rep footy again? Besides which I thought the Morris boys were fine tonight, and apart from that one (ridiculously dumb) fumble, McManus exceeded expectations.

Same team, maybe think about Taufua. And obviously the halves have to go. Sutton and Adam I'm thinking? at the very least adam has to come in.

Dugan
Hayne
Morris
Jennings
Morris
Bird
A Reynolds
Merrin
Farah
Grant
Watmough
Stewart
Gallen

Fifita
Lewis
Graham
Grant

Woods

Don't know how Will Hopoate just walks into your side, but anyway.

I thought McManus was good tonight, however we definitely need Hayne back and because Dugan has gone well at fullback (although he can hog the ball a bit), I'd put Hayne back in on the wing. With Gallen back, I'd drop Woods and we also need a dominant halves pairing. If we had them tonight, we would have won - stuffed if I know who though. Wouldn't change too much else, we're nearly there.

Hayne/Dugan
Morris
Jennings
Morris
Ferguson/Hayne
Carney
Reynolds
Grant
Farah
Tamou
Bird
Lewis
Gallen

Cordner
Watmough
Fifita
Merrin

Lost the series by 2 points, no point to hit the panic button.

I thought the real difference was the halves and I would think with another year under their belt that both the Reynolds boys may well be what NSW needs for next year I think Piercey has had enough chances and have to agree with most of the forum that Maloney is disappointing at this level probably a good club footballer but not an origin player.
Woodsy was a little quiet but will learn to adjust to the speed and desperation of Origin level and was again under-utilized off the bench, there is no doubt Gallen and Hayne were missed and were possibly the difference.

I begrudgingly have to admire the QLD defence as much as it Gauls me to say it perhaps we could encourage them to employ Roycey but at the end of the day field position based around a good kicking game was the difference and that is Thurston truly the games number one player.

In my opinion NSW wasted the opportunity to win this one but have some good and better younger options coming through for next year even though there will be 2 games in dodge city next year.

At least we can now concentrate on the tigers for the rest of the year and I am looking forward to getting out to Leichhardt Friday night to see the boys go round.

Dunno mate it is twice as bad as last year ,you lost by one point last year

Pearce rides on his father's name. His fifth play options are shocking, especially near the opponents line. Roosters are last i believe in drop outs forced, that says it all. Daley cannot keep saying he is the 7 we need, i think tonight showed what he is all about.. nothing!

Reynolds and Carney would be great, Reynolds kicking game and ability to steer the team around is something the team needs, Carney has that x-factor about him, would be someone who can steer a team plus deliver that big play when needed.

Definitely agree. Who in tonight's team can pull something out of a hat when it's needed? Besides Farah that is.

bleh this just sucks.

qld keep winning and get their combos. every person in that team knew what their job was. forwards were tackling, running decoys and running hard. good line speed, set attack and the hooker directing traffic.

our team was a bunch of footy players coming together to play footy with no plans, no set attack and just one person crabbing across field. no one was trying or wanting to be the hero, it's just that no one else was doing anything that would get us points from somewhere.

our line speed was pathetic. no rushing defense. rubbing a player's face when he's on the ground is not mongrel, it's dirty.

not sure if it's too late or too early to pick a brand new team. we gotta get set on a spine. maloney and pearce were NEVER going to be the answer. said it before and i will say it again, idc how good/bad maloney was- we went backwards when we picked him over carney.

farah needs to stop taking things in his hands. i know he's not being selfish and simply doing what the halfback should be doing but he needs to stop that. twice i saw pearce and dummy half and farah at 1st receiver. he was the captain out there- he should've been telling pearce to take more responsibility- telling forwards to block the defenders, to tell pearce to get in position. and srsly robbie, STOP going in when the person is already tackled ffs.

frustrating to watch the blues, esp when tigers are playing crap
