NSW SOO Team

Dwyer sound like a real chance from that. I agree with sticky, I thought Stewart had a colossal game on friday and he has been there before many times.

I think we'll see Stewart Gallen Creagh and possibly Dwyer…

Farah will get hooker

Sauce may get a bench spot.

When is the team announced?

Monday week I'm pretty sure

Team is announced on MOnday night football next week at halftime. Although the team usually leaks before then.

I don't think Dwyer has any chance of being selected. He just has too many players in front of him. I think Farah is likely to get the nod, and Sauce is a 50/50 chance (although it Lahrs is out he should get a gig). Outside those two, we won't have anyone in the side.

Yeah, I agree with that MM. Farah combined well with Pearce and I reckon that will get him over the line for the first game, anyway. If it's true about TLL being out for a month, then Sauce should definitely get a bench spot - Ricky seemed to be impressed by him. Too many other good backrowers for either Heighinton, Fulton or Dwyer to make it. I think Hinchliffe will be the bolter for the utility position, though, with Gidley out. He grabbed his opportunity with both hands - good luck to him. Also, with all the focus on him, it pushes Ennis further into the background, so that can't be a bad thing

At least now Laurie Daley and Craig UnderBellamy do not have a say.

Stuart will go for 2 players that can play dummy half. You watch.

There was an article in the Courier Mail this morning by Mal Meninga and he believed Farah would get picked by NSW.

yeah i saw that. most of the article i tended to agree with except for that farah comment. sadly i honestly cant see ricky stuart picking him. his combo with pearce from friday is his only chance

Am looking forward to seeing who they pick.

thats my exact team except i have mannah instead of hunt, and micheal gordon instead of hayne, but i have a feeling that young will be in there. he may get the 9 and farah the 14, when farah comes on young to the backrow.

Creagh goes gangbusters for St George and Australia, yet is crap in Origin! I don't understand that and I would have trouble picking him in my team because of it. For all their rhetoric about choosing 'origin type' players, Creagh is one player that appears _**not**_ to be 'built for origin', yet the selectors continue to keep picking him. Reeks of inconsistency and politics 😕

1\. Hayne 1\. Slater
6\. Mullen 6\. Cronk?
7\. Pearce 7\. Thurston
9\. Farah 9\. Smith

This needs to be the spine of NSW for some time. This is IMO an all out attacking spine.

Comparatively, NSW's 1,6,7,9 are a bit weaker than QLD's but Ennis offers no attacking opportunity, neither does Soward. "NSW needs to score more points than QLD".

You are kidding . You are leaving out Lockyer . If Soward is fit he must be in the six jersey

With all due respect tig prmz…NSW's spine isnt even half as good as QLD's. By the way, why leave out Lockyer? Marshall is the reigning golden boot owner and Darren has outplayed him twice this season already. He will own this origin series...

I also disagree with your asessment that Soward offers nothing in attack. He has been the leading playmaker in the best side in the comp for the past two years. His defense is shoddy but attacking football is his strength.

I was talking about the future. Of course Locky will be here this year, but not next year.

Also I disagree re Soward. He works with Gasnier, Cooper etc. and usually gives them early ball to break the line on their own. I have never seen him throw a short ball to a charging second-rower or prop etc.
Correct me if you want, but I would never want Soward in the Tigers jersey or NSW jersey. I HATE that bloke. Maybe my opinion of him interfered with my assessment of his attacking abilities

The thing with Soward is though he has been playing behind a very, very dominant team. That is something he wouldn't have playing for NSW. Look at the game against Cronulla a few weeks ago and Soward had very little impact because the Dragons forwards weren't able to dominate.

I still think he at least deserves a chance but I really don't think he is the halfback to take NSW into a new era.

Soward - Buckleys

Heighno didnt stand out unfortunately and I have major problems with Shacklton Butter fingers.

The Squad - Not as I want it but what I think it will be

4.Idris
5.Morris
6.Mullen
7.Pearce
8.Weyman
9.Ennis
10.Snowden

14.Leroy'Lars

One area I think NSW can win is in the forwards I don't think NSW can win without superiority in the forwards . So if they win the forward battle and follow up with his excellent kicking game , and make Qld have to really work to get the ball out of the red zone . If you can make Qld try and attacjk out of the defensive and create mistakes this is how you will beat Qld . The idea of playing Soward is his speed when attacking the line and his kicking game . With Pearce and farah playing together and having some combination they might create room for Soward and the outside backs . That's my thinking anyway .
