I think apart from the lack of one prop they got the forwards right . Start with Gidley at fullback and use Lewis as the stop gap man , switch Hopoate with Lyons or Idris and thats not the worst side going around . Do you think they haved picked Hoppa Jr to try and get him to switch his thoughts on going on his pilgrimage for 2 years ??

You're right though, the selections are just mind blowing. Thank god Ricky didn't get a gig here. You get out-muscled in game 1 and what do you do? Move a lock up to prop and pick possibly the 2 smallest props in the NRL. You say you won't pick Idris because he's a right centre and would be out of position on the left so instead for game 2 you pick a fullback on the wing and a fullback/winger in the centres??? The guy is just a nutjob...

As for the NSW pack, the issue is not so much the players (well the front row yes but we'll get to that), it's more that they pick the same sort of player. Watmough, Bird, Gallen, Lewis etc etc plus the conga line of St George wide running backrowers who are ex-centres. There is no balance. They need a big tall backrower (someone who can play prop or second row - say TLL) and at least 3 if not 4 big props (2 starters plus 1 or 2 on the bench). Our forwards never make any ground - been that way for half a decade and yet we still get the same basic composition...

I don't know about that but I will give an ironclad guarantee to being well past my prime, ineffective and making under 30m. So I am a shoe in for a starting prop slot
