I'm fairly sure that constitutes choking. But I'd rather be a winner who cokes than just generally shit like the Sharks

This choking rubbish is wearing thin.

So if you dont win the comp your a choker? please.

We havent got an organising half …yet. Lui will be but isnt quite there yet. Until that happens, losses in tight games are inevitable. We didnt choke last night, we were outplayed by a tough second half performance from a good side. Forget what happened in Brissie, they were very good last night.

umm Roosters game anyone? we lost 2 finals in consecutive yrs that we should have won, that cost us a potential GF. I can see the point Tomcat is trying to make

In fairness I think it's just a consequence of their style of play. What we all love about the tigers is also their achilles heel. It's great to watch and the put the best in the comp the sword but come finals time their defencive line can't cope with the pressure of a team who's determined to win.

I don't even wanna have this discussion. I'm still heart broken over the loss =,( … I hate this feeling and really didn't think I'd b feeling it this yr. I want nothing to do with the NRL for the rest of the yr

We didnt choke in that game either….We had them and then suffered injuries to Marshal, Ellis, Galloway + Lawrence wasnt there....they were full strength and only won due to a stupid refereeing mistake.

Once it went to OT, we were a very low chance as we had $1million sitting on the bench who couldnt come back on.

We tried to protect the lead…hard call for a coach, with a player like Benji telling them to go for it at half time could have meant a greater loss...but of coarse it could have been a score like Brisbane's effort last week too..they had to play the percentages unfortunately that's not the tigers way...if you went back to when we were struggling to make the semi's with all the dis harmony and injuries throughout this year overall we can be proud of our blokes for their achievements in 2011...we'll get them next year.... chin up boys Balmain boys don't cry.

There is a big difference between us and teams that you can say "choke" and that difference is that we do not go around saying that we are deserved of winning the premiership and that it is almost a right for us to be there, then complain and whine when they don't.

At no time this year or last did the Tigers come out and say yes we WILL win the premiership, we stated that we believed we COULD win it but we would need to play well to do so.

Others come out like it is God given right to win it, and even though confidence is important it tends to seem more arrogant than confident.

A team like this can be defined as "chokers", whereas we played our best and were unfortunate to go out.

yes we choked last year against the dragons and we choked this year against the warriors…
hopefully we can turn it around next year

as there are 16 teams in the comp, wouldn't you have to label 8 teams chokers as they did not qualify for the finals.

IMO the circumstances as being labelled a choker would be:

having scored at try which has you one point behind the opponnent.
you are having the conversion to win the comp from straight in front and you miss the goal.
this would be choking.

so what you are saying, is that each team that makes the finals and do not win the comp are chokers?
