Without causing all the negative nellies on here to get their knickers in a knot,however if Packer is to stay next year and gets fitter and injury free over the offseason,I think with Tamou coming,he and Russ could really harden up the forward pack and give the young guys so much added experience and knowledge..
just an opinion based on how well Russ combined with Matalino in the early parts of the seasons with us,they did do well and could this be Russells final year to show that injury free he has something to offer the young recruits ...


That would be nice however Ive seen nothing to suggest that that is likely or even possible. Better would be medical retirement because of his foot.

Packer is probably the most best set for 'after footy' life as well

apparently he is decently smart

Completed a few degrees as part of his rehab getting back into the NRL. He’s also heavily involved in the players union and pretty highly regarded in that area. He’s really good to have around the young guys looking after them and they love him, shame he’s on such big money and isn’t performing on the field.

Also what I like about JT's signing is he'll lock up our middle defence. Really good at holding up the ball carrier and slowing the play the ball.

2 years is the perfect length. If he doesn’t live up to expectations, it’s only a short term deal, so it won’t be crippling like Reynolds and Packer have been. And if he’s still traveling well at the end of ‘22, offer him another year. There isn’t too much downside. He’s at Winx odds to at the very least be a co-captain.

It’s going to take us finishing in the 8 consistently before that is justified imo.
