Ok, So Who's Gonna Win It?

All I know is that this year clearly shows how far the gap is between the top 4 and the rest of the comp.

Top 4 and the rest were a rabble of pretty well equal ability.

top 4 link to ' salaty cap' and TPA's perhaps ?
predictable floggings of the pretenders and the dominant teams are into to the last four.

i reckon … roorters v cowboys g/f, roorters to get up.

That sharks game just highlighted perfectly what i said earlier, we seem to get these teams every year that limp into the semis or really have no chance and just their for nuisance sake or as a mere speedbump for the real contenders

It should only be a Top 5 Semi finals, to many sides get rewarded for inconsistent form.

the wierd part is that if the gummys beat manly by 4 points or less in the final round, they would have finished fourth with a negative points differential.

Yeah i recall myself shaking my head over that leading into Round 26 .

Realistically the deserved Top 4 and the 4 teams that are left are deserved for playing for a birth in the Grand Final

I got a feeling it will be a Cowboys vs Roosters Grand Final , i think it's a massive advantage not having the week off IMO.

I hope the cowboys win the grand final on at least one suspect / dodgy call going their way.
They have been on the end of some shockers in finals series over time.
Karma would be sweet, for them , especially against the " roosters"

Yeah you get the odd time a team comes from 6-8 position and gives it real shake like Canterbury last year, but that doesn't happen all that often. It's more like what you said, they are merely speed bumps for the real contenders. I agree with FT, it really should go back to being top 5 - it's a better system to reward effort and consistency throughout the season, imo.

The NRL would lose revenue. Top 8 means more money, and that's all that matters.

NRL is probably hoping for an all Qld final so they can put another side in SEQ without the Broncos howling how bad it will be for the game in Qld

Broncos getting slow play the balls set after set and the minute the Roosters get one issue penalty

The dirty bearded so and so ref is involved in every game I reckon that is rorted

True FT with Ferguson one of the best defensive is getting owned by him
