Be that as it may. I think most know it’s a notch down, not to mention tactically it is different as well.

I watched the Wigan v Warrington Magic round game and he held his own against the opposition halfback who just happened to be playing in the game from the upper echelon just 2 months ago.

We will see when he has 6 NRL forwards bearing down on him ....

ESL and KOE about the same level.

Probably somewhere in the middle BT between KOE and NRL

I couldn't see a Top KOE side beating an average ESL side

Am i missing something? Why would a centre be holding their own against the opposition halfback?

Has any RL player really held their own since Donny McKinnon?

I Agree, ESL is higher level than KOE/QCup. And obviously not the same level or style of game as NRL.

Also, compared to KOE/QCup the ESL has crowds and some major occasions like the challenge cup final and grand final. Which means the players are are more exposed to higher pressure situations than in KOE/QCup.

You are, I was responding to former posts. The thread started to merge between Gildart, Hastings and the quality of the league. Hastings was one of the discussions and after watching the Warrington game who had just recently signed George Williams as their halfback and already had Gareth Widdop as their 5/8. i thought in comparison to the two opposition halves Hastings looked their equal.

Well lets hope he excels?

I watched Gildart in recent games. Leeds, Castlereagh and Warrington (?)
I can't say I was impressed. Maybe this was not the best showcase as the whole Wigan side played badly and lost all 3 games, 2 of them scoreless. But Oliver didn't do much with his few opportunities with the ball. Took it up into the defence, no linebreaks or passes. Missed the 3rd game after an injury in the warm-up. Hope he makes it for us in the NRL.

Didn't watch the game this morning but apparently Gildart and Hastings went well which is good to hear.

Was disappointed it wasn’t broadcasted. The Leeds Hull KR game was on instead.

I know I checked to tape it and its hard to even find highlights of the game.. I Still cannot find highlights.

I watched it on some random livestream, I'll see if I can find highlights

LOL lads it was such an ordinary game, relax

I wish the Tigers would play ordinary games like that. Was great defence throughout, and Hastings has such a good kicking game.

Hastings has such a good attacking kicking game, miles above what we have currently. Not sure how good his long kicking is though

I saw Hastings bombs in recent games against Leeds, Castleford and Warrington. His kicking game was not impressive. Straight to the opposition. No tries resulted and I can't remember a line drop-out either. Really no improvement on WT kicking this year.

So he looked the equal of a halfback (Williams) who was nothing more than satisfactory when he played NRL?

ESL and KOE about the same level.

No way. Just look at world club challenges for instance. NRL clubs have tended to win in recent years but they are generally competitive, and Wigan is second to only Melbourne in WCC wins. Can you imagine a NRL v KOE club challenge? It would be Melbourne 120 Magpies 0.

When I've watched he's assisted quite a few tries with his short kicking, again unsure how good his long kicking is
