I think we had a chance to stake out Bankwest as our home ground when it first opened. If we had have gone there full-time at the same time ad the squeals then it would be just accepted as home by now.
Nowhere feels like home to me.

That’s why we should just build something new , in association with say the bulls and maybe the dogs . Eg. Liverpool . Much like the COE it creates a refresh, and a way to build new memories . C town and the 8th wonder , bankwest , etc . Just have so many bad ones .

I think Liverpool would be awesone.

So do I, but I don't think it is a realistic option for the club

Do you mean they wouldn't see it as an option?

I don't think so no, I may be wrong but it is the impression I got.

That’s ridiculous really . It’s our catchment , it’s a new ground so no baggage , and it’s not that far really , from Ashfield concord . Plus it’s a hub for train lines . Also with the teams nearby , it could easily be sold to say the nsw government.
What are thier preferences Cochise ? Because the current model , is reall reall unsustainable. And I’m a Balmain roots , 8th wonder , supporter . But that ground needs to be against Souths once a year IMO. Much like the Stadium Australia , Easter clash against the eels .

There are a few things against Liverpool. It is not near the COE or Wests Ashfield. Also it would be a boutique stadium restricted to 20K capacity. That would place us at a great disadvantage against other teams with grounds with greater capacity. It would ensure Wests Tigers were only ever a second tier club.

Why not make it the same size as bankwest ? Easy fix . Having it smaller isn’t necessarily bad . Much like Leichhardt , it makes the experience a premium one , which means if the demand can build to enough , you can sell the seats that are around the players near the sidelines , or corporate boxes for way more . It’s literally the American model . They only get 10k max to most basketball and baseball games . But that’s how it’s sold . We won’t make the revenue of that because it’s 80 games and 163 games respectively , 41 home and 81 home , but the point remains .

Because the government won't. The plans would be for smaller 20K grounds.

Says who ? The only reason Brookvale and Others are being sold that way to the government is because , PVL and the NRL have that agenda atm . If you head there with enough of a business case , there’s no way they wouldn’t shift . Plus your talking about 10k extra seats . I’m sure that’s not just a 50% increase to total costs .

The PVL has.

No he hasn’t . He’s put an emphasis on boutique grounds , key word ; emphasis ie. it takes priority , meaning that other options take a less of a priority . I don’t see anything there saying all options are off the table . Just merely there’s a pecking order . Hence what I originally said , about developing a plan that , and a partnership that would change that .
Don’t bother replying mate , as I’m sure it will be a “I’m right your wrong type thing “ defeating the whole purpose of conversation .

Could be wrong, but was pretty sure the Stadium that were to be built were limited to 20k.

Good luck to you and your campaign. Can’t see it happening nor really should it.

The Wests Tigers are born out of two inner city clubs. The inner city is where the COE is. The inner city is where the club headquarters are. The home ground should be as close to these locations as possible. I know you disagree and that’s OK.

What campaign ? And where is this magical ground , going to be located . SFS - nope , Stadium Aus , maybe , if the refurb goes ahead , not looking good though .... and nothing .

It’s a pragmatic idea . I just said . I’m from the tigers side and the inner city . But there’s no spot for a ground .
And there’s no reason why our home ground can’t be a distance away . Sooo many sporting teams in the world have this setup .

You know what is sad an off season topic has been bumped and it's only Round 6..sigh..

Anyhow enjoy the swings and roundabouts for the next 10 pages peeps..

But we value your opinion unbiased input .

Well ANZ for me that hasn't changed the last 7 billion times it's been discussed with 1 game each year at Leichhardt and Cambo..so I can line up for 15 mins to have a pee..

Nothing is going to change until the current deal expires..

The last info from the club had the leases at CSS and LO expiring last year. We moved the contract with Homebush to Bankwest so there s no reason they couldn't be doing your suggestion now.

There is if Stadiums NSW are happy to let the current deal run it's course before commencing negotiations on any new deals..

They moved the easter monday game easily. Do you think its likely that the govt wouldnt want the tigers to play more games at the govt owned grounds?

Depends..cash that once was there may not be in the current climate..don't think they would be in any rush..

For example a 10K crowd v Cowboys at ANZ would cost them more to open the gates..

No not Wests Tigers,,,Cost Stadiums NSW... sure they happily move a 30K game there..and other crowd pulling matches which they already have under the current deal anyway..but lesser drawing games v out of town teams where crowd numbers are low doesn't benefit them ...

We do, he is saying that Venues NSW or whatever it is called now might be reluctant to move smaller games to Stadium Australia as it will cost them more money.

I'm saying the cost to Stadiums NSW are not worth a new deal in the current climate for lesser drawing games against out of town teams where crowd numbers are low for them to pay us to play there so they are happy with the current number of games..

So of we pay rent at LO then we could pay rent at Homebush.
Using lease agreements as an excuse for not having one home ground is crap as we only have an agreement with the gov't. The others expired.

You are arguing with the wrong person. I have absolutely zero influence over the club. I suggest you let the club know of your views and how you feel.

Oh man , you seriously suck . You chimed into a conversation I was having with Cochise . I have no interest in your opinion and nor did I ask for it .

We pay rent at LO and CSS don't we?

No not Wests Tigers,,,Cost Stadiums NSW... sure they happily move a 30K game there..and other crowd pulling matches which they already have under the current deal anyway..but lesser drawing games v out of town teams where crowd numbers are low doesn't benefit them ...

We don't pay rent at Campbo or LO?

We do but that's not the point I am making...

I'm saying the cost to Stadiums NSW are not worth a new deal in the current climate for lesser drawing games against out of town teams where crowd numbers are low for them to pay us to play there so they are happy with the current number of games..

It is not just that either, with all the major stadium coming under one body there is unlikely to be any competitive tension in the future. Big stadium deals may not be as lucrative from now on.

We do, he is saying that Venues NSW or whatever it is called now might be reluctant to move smaller games to Stadium Australia as it will cost them more money.

So of we pay rent at LO then we could pay rent at Homebush.
Using lease agreements as an excuse for not having one home ground is crap as we only have an agreement with the gov't. The others expired.

If the costs are relative what's the problem with Leichhardt and Campbelltown..maybe Stadiums NSW are happy with the way it is for the games they have in the current climate...

Costs would be far higher to open ANZ than it is for both Leichhardt and Campbelltown for low drawing games..not a good model..

I live in Liverpool and would love a purpose built stadium here for WT to use as a home ground. There's a lot of upside to the concept. But, in all honesty, I think relocation to Perth is more likely.

I live near it but am in Liverpool most times than not and I can't find where there could be a stadium built that is worth it, only place is that field near whitlam centre but that's it and I dont think that is viable option tbh.

Unless a new stadium is built in Liverpool or somewhere else in our area - 6 at campbelltown & 6 at leichhardt IMO is the best option for us (finances dependent).

Our strength is our broad support - though think 3 home games + game in tamworth is too thin.

I don’t know how reliable this is but I heard that Liverpool is more than ‘on the table.’ In fact I was told it’s deep into negotiations between state govt , NRL and WT. person I heard this from has a connection to the club but is not involved with the club. Might be a hot tip. Might be rubbish. Anyone hear similar???

Its sad but both those grounds are fast approaching their use by date

Well that's a shock tbh, I wouldn't be complaining I'd love to have one near me I just can't think of a reasonable place to put it without it being a small capacity stadium.

I would be pleasantly surprised if that was the case, just didn't appear to be on the agenda to me.
