I live in Liverpool and would love a purpose built stadium here for WT to use as a home ground. There's a lot of upside to the concept. But, in all honesty, I think relocation to Perth is more likely.

I live near it but am in Liverpool most times than not and I can't find where there could be a stadium built that is worth it, only place is that field near whitlam centre but that's it and I dont think that is viable option tbh.

I don’t know how reliable this is but I heard that Liverpool is more than ‘on the table.’ In fact I was told it’s deep into negotiations between state govt , NRL and WT. person I heard this from has a connection to the club but is not involved with the club. Might be a hot tip. Might be rubbish. Anyone hear similar???

I would be pleasantly surprised if that was the case, just didn't appear to be on the agenda to me.

Was a shock to me as well. Only heard this yesterday. Doesn’t seem likely but not sure we should dismiss this rumour

I would guess it may be an option at board level. Fingers crossed or is it just wishful thinking now that you are about to move west? lol

It would be extremely generous for west’s Ashfield to organise with government for a stadium at Liverpool. To be honest, outside looking in Ashfield does seem to want to do the right thing for the football club despite not wanting to be heavily involved. It would be awesome if they succeed

We are talking one home ground at yet here some are again arguing for C'Town and Leichhardt

If people are prepared to pay us to play at their Stadium ..it's a no brainer really

Its not as if wherever we play will give us any tactical advantage ...especially at the moment

Liverpool area would be a good move if ever true. Play most games there and then a game or two at LO a year. For the long-term success of the club it makes sense. That's a fast growing part of Sydney, is close to Wests heartland and is a huge base for juniors. With the COE in Concord we'd have some footprint in the inner and greater west.

it would have to be shared with the dogs. The club will not survive if it goes to Liverpool.
Inner city is where it shoukd be near the COE

We certainly do need 1 ground and even though many probably even most wont agree with me it should be Homebush. It is fairly centraly located to the majority of our support base with good parking and decent facilities. The only downside is viewing the match.
I have spent much of my life going to Leichhardt oval (even when it ran east/west) and it will always be my favourite ground but neither it or CO is a place to base our future.A game a year at both would be fine.Parra stadium is a terrible idea imo and SFS is not servicing all of our Sydney supporters. So for me it really is a simple decision,Homebush.

Unless it’s origin that place is worse than watching TV.

Homebush makes geographical sense somewhat, but ugh I hate that stadium.
I’d definitely just split between CO and LO. Never at Parramatta.
Has there ever been talk of developing Concord?

I doubt if Concord would make the grade,it is too small for what we need and parking would be an issue

That's where the redevelopment will take place somewhere towards the old council building was.

Redeveloping the old Lidcombe Oval would be an ideal option but geographical location not ideal to close to Stadium Australia I believe a new State of the Art Stadium at Liverpool would solve a lot of problems and cater for the ever expanding population of the South West or another possibility could be looking at a new Stadium around Badgerys Creek once infrastructure is in place their talking 2026 getting to there via M5 & M7 would be easy

Did I correctly hear, in the pre-game show, that the Cowboys last win at Leichhardt was in 2000?

G'day @Lauren Wow!!! Cowboys haven't won a game at Leichhardt since 2000, but they get up and win this one they weren't supposed to have any chance of winning.
I wonder... when was the last time Wests Tigers won a game at Leichhardt... our much touted 'spiritual home ground'...we weren't supposed to win.
Have a great day

Many have views on this but does anyone have a players viewpoint. I’m guessing but turning up for a game to the broncos change rooms would be far more pleasant as opposed to a smaller ground. Probably also adds to the mantra of not liking to play away at likeart or manly. I would prefer we chose a ground that is widely acceptable across nrl players. Smaller grounds are a good experience but if I was saddling up for 13 home games I know where I would want to be especially if I had no connection emotionally to a ground. Reality is not many are these days as chances arise outside of their zone more regularly than staying and playing for the home team.
If players feel more comfortable in their surroundings and facilities surely it would go someways to attract others.
So I would accept the players point more than a fans

I'd throw all my eggs in one basket and redevelop Campbelltown properly. That ground has sufficient space around it to turn it into a 30,000 seat stadium. Leagues club next door, along with a train station - easy to get onto the Hume Hwy. Logistically it makes the most sense to me to play out of there and offer 1-2 games per year at Leichhardt for sentimental value.

Gus Gould may be many things, but I don't believe he's stupid. We've under developed the south-west and Group 6 and that's a huge catchment area which would benefit from WT playing out of there consistently. By all means keep the COE at Concord, but Captain's runs and home games - Campbelltown - give the place a proper identity.

Thank God it's finally been said. The only thing this club should be doing.

West’s Campbelltown don’t own the club. Playing next to that leagues club does not benefit the owner of our club

I'm aware of that. I'm looking where the people live and where they are going to live. Theres no reason Wests Asfield can't takeover or even build something out there. Panthers were all over everything around NSW.

There is plenty of reason, Wests Campbelltown was originally part of Wests Ashfield but in the late 80's it was made independent.

Yeah i suppose you're right. Well there's no chance of Bankwest then either given Parra Leagues is right next door. Looks like it's Homebush or the City.

I actually meant your suggestion of Wests Ashfield taking over the Wests Campbelltown. My fault my post wasn't clear enough.

No worries. I wasn't clear either as i didn't really mean take over Wests Campbelltown. I was referring to other clubs in the area just like the Panthers group did all around the state. ( admittedly they sold a fair few of them off but they still have a couple of good ones).
Given where the ownership of WT stands these days i would have thought there would be at least some room to open some discussions with Wests Campbelltown particularly with other clubs starting to put a lot of time into the South West.

Too be honest I don't think Wests Campbelltown are that interested.

I worked there for 3.5 years and left earlier this year when I graduated. Pascoe and Hartigan come in a few times a year, things are friendly. they've got a new CEO and the chairman is a fairly recent appointment. new heads may mean change. who knows. but I do know that the previous CEO had zero inclination to get back on the board.

I grew up going to LO and love the place. Without some significant money being put into it though it is going to get left behind.

People want amenities as a part of gameday experience now. I would also want the club to be paid to play somewhere rather than the other way around, and if we were to pay to play somewhere, it would be our full time home ground.

For mine it's either WankBest, Homebush or SFS, and lobby the state government for a Liverpool development. It would all depend on whether Ashfield wants that though. I get the feeling that they prefer BW, Homebush and LO because they are close to the Leagues club.

Good memory!! Yes same bloke.

Another compromise but Sydney Showground at Homebush is a boutique 24,000 seats and central for most members. As a oval it would be sub optimal viewing but the stadium would have good corporate facilities etc and similar viewing experience to stadium Australia.
