So we're not happy even if we get a new stadium in our own territory?
That's baffling.

I dont consider Liverpool "our own Territory". The fact that Dundas Shamrocks are Balmain Juniors and up the road from Bankwest doesnt make Bankwest in our territory.

In the 90's and 00's I was consulting to Canterbury LEagues (and Balmain Leagues) at the time an they were gong to build their big COE and stadium at the Whitlam Centre back then. Liverpool is Bulldogs territory.

Exactly - Dogs trying to move there since the 90's says it all

They had the foresight to see the potential of a development out there which is something sadly missing on this forum

your push for out that way is what is sad
our COE is inner city

Elderslie is close to Liverpool mate ..
Agendas much

Just as far as Leichhardt is to Liverpool

Elderslie to Liverpool 33k’s
Elderslie to Leichhardt 57k’s

Must get lost a lot ?

I think he meant Elderslie is just as close to Liverpool as Leichhardt is to Liverpool.

Correct

but you are closer to Liverpool was the point

No it's basically half way between the two

Canberra/Palestine. It doesnt work

I thought Greenberg was bad, but Vlandys now proven he’s completely out of touch.

Why would you spend 30 million+ on a stadium in Liverpool when you have BankWest. Upgrade our local home grounds, they foster tribal fans who are passionate about their team and ultimately develop the next generation of juniors.

Leichhardt was the 1st ground mentioned when this was 1st discussed. The mayor of Leichhardt responded with something like new seats would be good.

The local council has a lot to answer for. Basically they really don’t want a larger or better Stadium in Leichhardt. They would never get local residents approval. It would be a fight to destruction, just like the Balmain Leagues redevelopment was.

The old die-hards of Balmain the working class people have been replaced by Greenies and Nimbys and these days the Council would need to be on a course of Laxatives to get anything passed in regard to a Stadium.
That's why we need to look to greener pastures to insure the success of WT'S.

Liverpool is Tiger territory.

It’s Bulldogs territory. The Bulldogs know it and more importantly the NRL knows it. Liverpool is the Bulldogs takeover v2.0.

Uhh no it isn’t. Where the stadium would be, on the corner of Hoxton Park road and the Hume Highway, that’s in Tiger territory. Dogs territory starts when you go over the bridge on Newbridge road, down towards Mororebank.

Makes no difference, it’s Bulldogs territory. They know it and so does the NRL.

I don’t give a toss what they think they know. Junior teams in Liverpool fall under the Tigers banner. That’s all that matters.

It has nothing todo with juniors, it’s the fans that count. Liverpool will have crickets at home games.

Like Bankwest...?

Declining attendance at BankWest @ Wests Tigers home games. BankWest is getting close.

I say again , what is your solution ?

At this stage it’s SFS. Fairly neutral area. You won’t be bombarded with Roosters stuff like you are with Parra stuff at BankWest, which happens regardless of who we play at BankWest. The Roosters are no threat to the Wests Tigers in regards to possible merger/takeover, unlike the Bulldogs and Liverpool. SFS has good easy to access central transport with parking at Moore Park when needed. Close to great food and drink. Closer to Headquarters (Wests Ashfield) and COE (Concord). Easy to get to from for out of towners as well via the Airport or Central Station if they want to attend with great accommodation nearby.

A revamped ANZ would have been ideal but that’s not going to happen for the foreseeable future. Can’t see CSS being redeveloped either. So SFS it is.

It is not in our area, we would likely be sharing with 2 other teams and it makes no sense. People complain about a lack of identity but then want to be a team called Wests playing in the Eastern Suburbs.

Because they live in the inner suburbs , and really they want the team close to them for convenience . It has absolutely nothing to do with what’s best for the club .

I live in the Western suburbs and will take an 1.5 hrs to get there by public transport .. 98% of supporters would need to travel .The clubs 2 main facilities are situated in the inner west !

The SFS isn't in the inner west?

It’s not on Bondi Beach either, but it’s easier to get to for most than Liverpool.

For most?

It it closer to Bondi Beach than it is to Concord Oval.

closer to concord than Liverpool

I'm saying it is stupid for a team that is called Wests to play in the Eastern Suburbs. The idea of one home ground is to solidify the clubs identity, this would confuse the identity more.

It it closer to Bondi Beach than it is to Concord Oval.

And your point is? Are you saying Liverpool is closer to Concord or Ashfield?

I'm saying it is stupid for a team that is called Wests to play in the Eastern Suburbs. The idea of one home ground is to solidify the clubs identity, this would confuse the identity more.

Rubbish

Maybe we are the West Bondi Tigers?

what's a name got to do with it? Liverpool is east of Campbelltown

Wests is short for Western Suburbs
