Ongoing Selection of Daniel Fitzhenry?

I WAS a fan of Daniel Fitzhenry before his move to England and specifically as a Winger!

I am no longer a fan of the selection of Daniel Fitzhenry in 2010 specifically as a Winger and also not on the bench as a Utility Player! Obviously coach Sheens picks him in the 17 because he feels that he can cover just about all the backline positions as well as cover Farah as Hooker.

My concerns over his selection is that when he has been on the field so far after 6 rounds of footy he has failed to contribute to the teams performance either in attack or defence. I know that he has had limited time on the field but his continual selection is keeping out other high quality players and this will become more evident when a fit Simon Dwyer, Jason Cayless (hopefully) and Tuiaki etc make themselves available.

If the concern of the coaching staff is that we need a back/backup Hooker on the bench then surely as a result of an on-field injury then Fulton can cover Hooker/5/8/Centre and Farah can cover 1/2 back/5/8 and even Heighnington could cover Hooker. Also Flanagan came to the club as a Utility Player and I am sure he can play Hooker/5/8/Centre if an injury occurs throughout a a game?

If we are to be a force in this 2010 Competition then the best available 17 MUST be selected each week and unfortunately for me it will never include Daniel Fitzhenry. Fitzy has provided some good memories ( as a Winger) but the Wests Tigers have to make the play-offs in 2010 & the most skilful attacking & defensive players need to be on the field. :bulb:

Fitzhenry was one of our best on friday night.

I was right, scapegoating continues.

No he wasn't. His defence was poor and his attack is non-existent.

I think hybrid will only be wrong if fitzy is injured

Well yes, injury permitting.

But I doubt he'll get injured. He even came back from a broken collarbone a couple of years back in two weeks - was originally supposed to be out for up to six-eight weeks.

Only our good players ever get injured.

Fitzhenry will be in the #17 somewhere all season.

Anyone want a wager?

This is the reason I think we will have another average season in the END..it,s this particular selection PRACTICE on a weekly basis ( not that a particular player will be the cause) it,s the resistance to give others ago .You guys that watch the reggies know exactly what i,m talking about.I agree there is not a lot of players that warrant the upgrade but there is certainly a few.

Ahh another week another pre-emptive Fitzhenry thread.

At least this forum remains predictable in some ways

"…...In breaking news, a group of radical Wests Tigers supporters have kidnapped the teams premiership winning utility, UK returnee , and alround Mr Fix it , Daniel Fitzhenry . He was reportedly lured to a Cafe in Rozelle on the premis of interview to be the new face of ' Nivea for Men ' when he was abducted and taken to an undisclosed " safe house" somewhere in Sydney's far southwest. The group calling itself the " Fitzy Onfield Nomore Zero game time," or F.O.N.Z has declared they will not harm Fitzhenry , and would release him alive in October 2015, IF Police , Wests Tigers / Balmain /Western Suburbs officials and team coach Tim Sheens keep their distance from the group.

The leader of this group of militant Tigers Fans remained cautious of any attempt to contact Fitzhenry by authorities, and has promised to open a dirt file of evey politician, police officer, league player or official who visited ' Ingleburn Angels' for a 'massage' in the last 3 years. Further , he hinted that Fitzhenry would be used as a human shield if provoked.

Meanwhile Taniela Tuaki and club doctor Donald Kuah have been accused of VOODOO practices in regard to Tuaki's ankle injury….."
