Origin 111 *Live thread..

One player who got few wraps last night was Lillyman , he really looked like every time he touched the ball he would break the line

NSW spine had nothing to do with the loss. They were completely powerless to have any impact as they lost the battle up front.

The young, inexperienced pack who have been bathing in the glory of their efforts in game 2 were taught how to play football at this level last night. The much maligned QLD pack described as too old, too slow and too ineffectual stood up when it mattered. The media has talked non stop garbage about Woods, Tamou and Klemmer calling them the "bash brothers" and the best in the game…generation next is here to end the careers of these over the hill Queenslanders.....

They forgot one thing though. They forgot how experienced, wily and downright hard this QLD pack is. They have all been playing top level footy for the best part of a decade. They are all tough as nails. NSW players and media showed them no respect and this galvanized them. The result? You poke a lion with a stick you get your arse chewed and lose an origin decider by 46 points lol....

Absolutely 100% right Stryker. I underestimate big Mal too, he certainly pushed the right buttons.

I agree with GNR about the reality check too. You don't have to read the papers to get the effect of that sort of journalism, every man and his dog would have been pumping the tyres of the young forwards 24/7\. Their performance and the scoreline will leave lasting scars, I doubt they'll be forgetting that lesson in a hurry.

scott killed it.. he absolutely pummeled everyone.

ennis was hopeless in defense.. just shot out of the line at every instance leaving huge gaps- so what you want about woods (no matter how crap he was yesterday), he covered ennis a lot of times.

woods, klem, tamou and ESP merrin have a lot to learn no doubt- but honestly, QLD were far too good- no matter who nsw would've picked, QLD were on a mission to destroy.

cam smith looked charged up- never seen him like this. did you see his face when parker got up ended? he was filthy.

i'm not too dirty at NSW this time for some reason- QLD were just too big, too strong, too smart.

JT is a legend and The Puppet Master, Cooper Cronk was back to his best.

QLD were on a mission and they did not miss a beat.

Will Chambers have a great series as well as Corey Parker. Two unsung heros.

You have to give credit where credit is due.

It should leave lasting scars. Just like it did to Qld when we beat them 56-16 or whatever it was. Fletcher's grenade was used for years and probably still is when there isn't massive floods or a former QLD legend passing away or a current Captain being crucified by media or even Big Mals birthday.

Those NSW players young enough should never forget the way they were embarrassed in front of millions of people ever again. It should help to build a proper culture. I guess the big question is…....will it?

I give the core of the QLD side another 2 yrs at most. Thurston will be gone, Myles, Parker, Thiaday. The Storm big 3 and Inglis most likely might be gone from rep footy as well by then. Qld need to start grooming Morgan and Hunt as their long term halves pair and build around them.

I wonder why? :unamused:

No I don't!

The bar of bad sportsmanship was set by the QLD fans last night.

The NSW captain got to the microphone to thank QLD for the game and to say they were the better side etc. etc.

All he got was booed.

Typical, Typical. Would have expected no less.

Oh please, would a Sydney crowd have reacted any more respectfully to Smith?

Scraping the barrel Russel.

Fans dont have a good record at showing respect for the opposition at SOO. No doubt what ever Gal copped at Suncorp, Smith would have copped at ANZ. Not a position for the faint hearted.

Each action on it's merits.
I don't think it was very nice. I f the Sydney crowd do it to QLD in future I would think the same.

What has the barrel got to do with it? They did or they didn't. It is a comment.

My opinion. You obviously like that type of thing. I don't.

I didn't say i like it, just think its a pedantic thing to complain about. Especially when something like that can happen anywhere, not just in QLD.

I would also make the same comment wherever it happened.

Why are Qld excluded from criticism?

Thin skinned I'd say

They aren't. But its very easy to say you'd say the same thing when the opportunity hasn't presented itself.

I think you need to ask King Wally about the chants he used to cop in Sydney

It goes both ways , in a round about way they should take it as a compliment

Well the good news for NSW is that Daley is gone if Daley is as good as his word

One team showed up for a football match

Another one thought they were in the Royal Rumble

Gallen just murders NSW attack , he needs to go

We were the best side tonight , we just didn't go for the throat tonight , we gave NSW a Columbian Necktie

You're right Happy, Gallen is a ball hog. Needs to retire. NOW.
Blues played Spectacularly Crappy.

Woodsie doesn't have much to look forward to for the rest of the yr does he. Back to mediocrity you go son.

Spending the $90.000 he got from Playing Origin is something to look forward too.
