Origin selection discussion thread

Im pretty sure Uate is available for NSW.
My knowledge is that you can play for a developing nation such as Fiji, Lebanon, Scotland, etc, still play Origin but can only play for those countries if you haven't been selected for Aus, NZ and Eng.
Jarryd Hayne played for Fiji in the world cup after he wasn't picked for Aus and that was despite playing origin in 08 and playing both origin and for Aus in 09.
So my understanding is Uate is available if he pledges his allegience for NSW.

uate aint eligible i heard.
a player can only change country alligience for two years they changed it with haynes case in the world cup and i believe tupou as well who swapped almost mid tournament. uate played for fiji in the pacific nations last year thats why he wasnt picked for country either. so uate wont be there you can guarantee it

Well if Uate can't play then maybe Tahu or Lawrence on that wing.

Mate it's just my personal belief that if you have walked away from the game you shouldn't be allowed to play rep footy…which is a reward after all...upon your return.
NSW obviously don't care with Tahu and Lyon and QLD probably don't either as Thorn was allowed but that is how I personally feel.

No way will it be Tomane. He's hopeless. There has to be better options. Yow Yeh, Winterstein, Hoffman, Te'o should all be ahead of Tomane. There's even Adam Mogg, he is a former Origin rep. I don't know where he is at the moment but he'd be a better option than Tomane. Personally.

oh well we have the bye before origin 2 so we wont miss tuqiri for any games anyway. it will be good for him to play origin again

ABC radio said that QLD wont pick Tuqiri as punishment for leaving. Dont know how accurate they are but time will tell. I think he will be picked.
