'If' I was a person in support of such Atrocious events I wouldn't publicise the act for fear of retribution!.

Was more about your 'admiration' for bin laden, seeing as i never went to uni I guess thats why I struggle to appreciate and admire a mass murderer/terrorist.
edit - ftr i caught leroys sarcasm, it just happened to be in MM's post I quoted.

The admiration is for the attributes of dedication, resilience and ingenuity.
The guy out-witted the US - that's no small feat.

I'm not supporting what he did, I'm just saying that he was clearly a very skillful individual and I hope the history books accurately reflect this.

We idolise people like Augustus, Khan, Alexander and even Ned Kelly for showing these very attributes, yet Augustus murdered countless Romans, Khan and Alexander were warmongers and Kelly was a murdering criminal.

Bin Laden carried out an amazing campaign, defeated the Soviet Union, blew up the symbols of Capitalism, struck the Head Quarters of and evaded the most awesome military power in history for 15 years using nothing but networks of caves and propaganda. Yes he was bad, but you have to admire someone who can pull that off.

that's all i'm saying mate. And that it would be nice if the next equally as talented guy can put his skills to GOOD, not bad.

to say you go to uni tells us nothing as these days they are full of spastics. So perhaps its you who should get off the high horse and dont think that makes you intelligent kul.It may be what you study at uni but its what many around the world call LIFE a much bigger learning curve than any thing at uni can give you.Universities breed doctors, lawyers e.t.c but also breed a much higher breed of people who go in and come out worse off and only learn one thing how to be the most arrogant people going around. So dont go beating your chest about going to uni because on the street named life it dont mean s***

Don't agree that the body is not being returned to the family . No matter what he has done (and he has done bad ) but you should always respect the dead . He will be judged for his acts by the bloke upstairs (well downstairs who am I trying to kid ).

haha who cares? the bloke was SCUM.

Its a shame he is dead….too good for the dog. Then again if I was on the end of that weapon he wouldnt be breathing.

As for him being judged? your assuming an aweful lot there.....

Interesting to see people arguing over the death of the world's most notorious terrorist. Did he deserve to die for the crimes he has committed? Absolutely in my opinion. He did well to last as long as he did but with the amount of resources the US threw into tracking him down it was always going to be a question of when, not if.

Unfortunately terrorism will not end with his death.

Even if this post was tongue in cheek, it is poor form and you mate are a clown. Should be ashamed of yourself.

he is responsible for killing MILLIONS around the world and you say he practiced the muslim faith.

Millions? Are you sure?

He is a monster… but this claim is obscene. The USA are responsible for many more deaths, across almost every continent in the world!

Either way, Smeg said it right, I'm glad this is over with and perhaps this is something that can start a new chapter in history.

your reply just proves my original post correct.I dont intend to get personal with you kul because you are a nice guy however On this topic you just need further education my highly educated friend.I also went to uni so hitting a raw nerve, from you never your far too fresh for me boy. Please have a good solid rethink of exactly who is making a fool of themselves on the internet kul and if you think its me I suggest you pick up a copy of tomorrows paper and see the 99% of views and thoughts of the public on this tyrant.

Interesting topic this one. I must say I am surprised by some comments on here.

For me, his death is just another death. Someone else will now step up. Al Qaeda may be less of a threat but he has inspired many others who shared his hate. Jamal Islamia is just one of the many groups that he has inspired. They are a real threat to Australians. They operate very close to us out of Indonesia and the authorities don't seem to be able to stay a step in front of them.

This is obviously big news for the people of America. 9/11 was an extremely personal attack that meant they did not feel safe in their own country.

He is NOT to be admired Kul, he was a gutless coward in life and even from reports right up until his lights were put out.

A common trait with these terrorists..

Saddam hid in a hole cowering like the dog he was…., Muclass over in Bali spruiked his rubbish up until the day, then bawled like a little girl when facing the squad and now Bin Laden hides behind a woman.

You need a role model if you think these people should be admired.

No its these islamist extremists that are responsible for klling millions yes because they are the greatest exporters of hate the world has seen and hatred is the reason of most unnatural death around the world. This can be from basic acts of denial of nutrition, water and shelter to the worlds millions no billions of people who live below the poverty line that the usa and aid agencies have been trying to reach out for for decades to other denials of justice from the billion people who are forced to live in fear in the islamic world.Just be careful about your anti us jihad because with the exception of the vietnamese war where the us were too reliant on the use of force as opposed to other measures such as intelligence The usa are in reality the friends of the third world.I know oil plays a part in decisions of the us when it comes to the middle east but what plays the biggest part of the opposition to the free worlds thinking is looking for the easiest way to put fear into its civillians who become brain washed as fanatics. So in conclusion no Smeg got it exactly100% wrong. Please be mindful that when good clashes with evil the innocent will be stranded for periods of time whether its 6 months or 6 years like the second world war but ultimately good does beat evil even within the land of the good we sometimes have people who like smeg and yourself who on this topic are actually supporting the bad world with their comments.Hopefully these words have taught you something you can learn and put to practice in your life.Let lesson one be when you wake up tomorrow first thing you do is say god bless the anzacs I now know what those anzac day marches mean australia i love you.

It won't end with bin Laden. There will be some psychopathic zealot ready to take his place. Chances are his replacement will be even worse than him, and I wouldn't be surprised if his successor works in the shadows.

Shame on you kul!!!!

This is the biggest load of bollocks I've read in a long time!!! If you had friends who died on 9/11 (as I did) - you could not be so flippant!!!!!

As for defeating the Soviet Union - grow a brain!!!! You were a mere baby during the 80s Afghan war & the US supported his people during that conflict!!!!

PS - you are not the only person on the forum to go to uni - and some of us have both graduated from numerous degrees & earned true-life experience since!!!! I also studied geo-politics (amongst other pursuits) & worked for 15 years with Defence - don't EVER try to tell me anything until you grow the frick up!!!!!

No one is suggesting it will. But when you kill a leader, those fighting against him get a boost. The poor buggers, who I personally know of 3, who are over there fighting will welcome this news. It will be seen as a win for them. God knows they need it….
