Our ambition for the rest of the season and beyond?

Plans work, but the goals have to be smart…as in the acronym (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time bound).
Wests Tigers set goals such as top 4 within 3 years, premiership within 5. They never meet the criteria of S.M.A.R.T goals.
Once they fail, they are scrapped completely and new ones set.
These goals are too lofty, too fantastic. It is how idiots set goals.

Let’s try something simple for next year, for example;
2023 goal = get our points differential to be triple digit positive.
It is specific - no room for misinterpretation
It is measurable - it can be reviewed weekly/monthly
It is attainable - improved defence, improved attack will achieve outcome
It is realistic - on average we score 4 more points per game than we have scored against us. It is not out of reach for the pro teams
It is time bound - 26 games

Finishing top 4 and possibly winning GFs are byproducts of hitting goals such as this.

I think we should adopt a more scientific approach. With Sheens heading back to the drawing board after missing out on Ciraldo it’s a great opportunity for change.
I like the way James Tamou is thinking atm.
The inverted U theory, or better known as the Yerkes-Dodson Law could work for us, instead of against us, as it did when we were hopelessly outclassed by last years spooners.
It works like this..

I like those types of goals where there is no ambiguity about the result, but they need to be realistic and the how needs to attainable.
If we were to have a goal in our next game to say..”play 50% of our defensive sets in our opponents half, then the “how” might include running block for our halves to get an attacking kick away, or getting a quick ptb on our last etc.
