Our biggest game since the 2005 GF

This is it folks, our biggest game since we won the comp.

What's at stake?

Let's take a look:

1\. We've been slipping for a few months now / playing poorly. We've been very lucky….....but that luck finally ran out. We MUST raise our game higher than it's been all season.
\
\
2\. Momentum........very poor v. Cronulla........worse v. Souths.......if we lose to Penrith, we then go to Parramatta and give them a shot at taking our spot. You can't go there on the back of 3 bad games. We need to win this week.

3\. The "Sheens era" is on the line.......make no mistake, we simply can't afford another end of season capitulation. Sheensy has sold the "injuries cost us our season in 2006, 2009" etc etc. There are no excuses this time. We have less injuries than 90% of teams. There are no excuses.

4\. Penrith are playing tonight in Canberra (Monday).......a very difficult away trip for them.......we've 48 hours head start on them. MASSIVE edge to us.

The team has gone into camp. Everyone KNOWS this is THE game. Lose this and we the season will be in free fall mode yet again and the best we can do is maybe jag 8th. Win this and we are back and aiming at the top 4\. MASSIVE.

If we see Benji flick passes and grubbers on the first, Lui and Ayshford soft arm grabs as the opposition races past them, our forwards get belted and Ryan and Lote drop balls all day...........then we are officially done and dusted.

I don't expect to see those things. I expect to see a hell of a lot more structure and every single player put his body on the line in a manner they haven't done so far this season. Gut insticnt = Tigers by 14 +.

I will be at the game this Sunday , bought my tickets as it might be nothing less then a sellout.
The things i like is the short turn around for the panthers , i'm praying Raiders give them a touch up for full 80 mins and in the process soften a few so called mountain men up.I would dearly love to see Gordon , Lewis , Jennings , Coote and co to miss the game against us … I know the odds are not good as im wishing half the team is out ..lol
If Cowboys nearly beat them then why cant we EASLY beat Panthers ..

" Momentum........very poor v. Cronulla........worse v. Souths....... " You missed Cowgirls .. we didnt go too well till a bit later in the game ..

what so the parra game last year wasnt big and important? and the other MUST WIN games the past 5 years since 05

we have no chance in this game we never beat the panthers.. it will be bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb an Lote and Ryan will go drop drop drop drop!!

and Pritchard will turn up he only turns up against us

Even though its hard , atleast try to be positive … I know they(Panthers) are our bogey team but dont forget we had that issue with Eels but we turned that around the 1st game we played them this year ..
Can we draft a couple of AFL boys for the high ball this weekend ??

Penrith are currently playing very well against Canberra.

What I notice straight away is that ALL of their players hit the line harder than any of our players. We are in for a long afternoon on Sunday.

yeath , they are leading 18 -12 … Green machine cant even get anything right !!!
It just got worse for the raiders now 24-12 behind

Geez Gordon is a great player. Shame we didn't sign him, he's playing fullback tonight and has been the best player on the field.

Yeah, all straight and hard.
Theyre killing canberra down theire missing their 1 & 7.
Pritchard loves playing at Cambo, more than Penrith
We'll need to lift big time

Really …I think the Raiders have given the Panfers the game on a platter.....Giving away stupid penalties and turning over cheap ball .......hold on...

Golden

Yeah the Parra game was massive…......but we failed and missed the finals for the fourth straight season. So, this one is bigger as we are heading for five straight years out. Five years makes it bigger. Half a decade of failure, the only team not to play semis in that time = massive failure since we won it.

Panthers look good so far. I am hoping Canberra makes it closer as we don't want Penrith cruising and getting a bludge.

One big concern is Gordon. We'll need to outscore them by two clear tries probably to win as he's a 20% better kicker than Benji on the stats.

yeah the game has been turned to the faders by the ref, showing why the game is really rigged theaes days.. you dont seen floggings anymore

These teams are both showing exactly what we lack:

- Aggression and physicality
- Forwards who hit the line at speed
- Great goalkickers
- Structure, good kicking games

Danny Galea…...woah yeah....

What's happened to the Panfers.........All heads down......

notice how all the penalties go to the team thats behind at halftime?? its not just about the salary cap anymore leveling the comp its the refs leveling the games

Gee

had we won we would have been 2nd

when you think about that, i guess things arn't THAT bad afterall

even more of a shame we didn't win, could have been outright 2nd…. oh well, Panthers haven't been playing all that well the last month either, hopefully they won't bounce back to form this weekend

Several times this year Ive seen penrith clock off after 40.
Wonder if they can do it twice in less than a week

The Panthers did a Tigers from the look of it.

All they had in the whole 2nd half was hit up hit up hit up BOMB….They blew a 14 point lead...the tries they conceeded in the second half were soft as....Raiders are the second worst 2nd half team in the comp...so yeah the Panfers sucked as much as we did
