Thanks for the summary, I was on the road and couldn't watch it. I like ownership taken by the CEO for some of the mistakes plus I like the direction the club is heading. Long term future looks bright, finally.

The players had the right to take whatever time they thought they needed, so did the club.
they are free agents and can do what ever they decide to. So can the club.
Supporters often have inflated ideas as to howplayers should act .

Players might change their thinking a couple of times during contract negotiations, it's their business, and their lives, no one else is going to look after their interests
I'm disappointed that Teddy won't be here next year and it will be a long time before we get another one like him here.

They'll regret leaving big time, Woods in particular. Its clear as day his decision was based on emotion and bad advice. He still can't definitely state why he's leaving. He probably doesn't even know why himself. Every time he justifies it, he contradicts himself in his next sentence. Oh well, he can live with it.

I didn't say all of the above could be attributed to all three, they've all engaged in one or more of the aforementioned behaviours during these negotiations.

For starters Woods reckons no one at the club contacted him for 3 weeks, someone even posted a photo of him hugging Go within that period. Straight off the bat he is either having someone else speak through him misinforming, or he is lying.

They're only under pressure because they are treating the club with contempt, especially Woods as he is captain. What other club captain has behaved the way he has in the professional era of Rugby League? If you can find an example I'll happily concede.

One statement could have avoided this whole BS: I love the club, my preference is to stay here but I have to do what is best for me at the end of the day. I will assess all offers when they are finalised but until then my focus is captaining the Wests Tigers. Until then I will make no further comment.

Had that been said, 95% of the fans that currently want his head would understand his position and would give him a break.

Of course there were players in our team most of the time , that were at pretty low levels of ability.
But I've never heard Woods or Any of our top players ever say that about Any individual players. , but anyone who didn't already know that we had a fair supply of inadequate players in first grade, mustn't have watched many games,
All you had to do was have a look at the posts here about our plodders, and you will see what I mean
There was an unusual consensus as to the large numbers that posters wanted to be dumped.
Even if he did think that he was better than most in the team, ( and he would know that anyway),
It'd be pretty frustrating to be the only prop that played consistently , with nothing much in the forwards to support him.
As for the time taken to decide, it is more than likely exactly the opposite to what some think , and he might not have been completely sure that he wanted to leave the club.

Whatever the reason , only he knows .and we will never know if there were lies either by the club or by him. So I'd rather be thankful for the solo efforts he put in so many times, and even though I've long thought that he needed to harden up, Im not slashing my wrists that he's moving on.
He gave a lot on the field for this club, and deserves better than the grog fuelled idiots have been giving out. , but you'd expect that I suppose.

Has Woods really not had any support ? Honestly I watch every game and I often think that Woods offers very little at times especially when attacking. He ambles it up and gets a slow play the ball when a tough hit-up and a quick play the ball is required. I see Ava, Grant, Sue and Nofo doing the first tough hit up. Woods tends to wait until someone has dent the line and then he has a run.

Wouldn't the right thing to do if you are being relied upon is to put up your sleeves and do the hard work ?

How do you think someone like Gallen feels. He struggled for years in the Cronulla team and I think he was a much better player than Woods. He stuck with them and they won the comp. Do you think that is possible to happen at the Tigers.

I just see so many inconsistencies in your comments it amazes me.

Yep - this plus some of what Hooper et al have said make it pretty clear it was something around that time that put them (i.e. iMoses) off. Probably a combination of the Webhe situation and Payten/Webster not getting the gig afterwards.

The players you pay the most are the players you look to..to win games, control games, set standards and be ambassadors for the club. After the last few years, I think the club has just got lucky

Woods, Teddy, Moses…...they all consider themselves $Million Dollar players and to a certain degree maybe 1 of them is.
The rest of their team mates though vary from maybe high $300k's right down to the blokes that are paid minimum NRL contracts and probably would struggle to feed themselves and their families.

Those blokes see The Big 3 as no different than a Boss or people who are above their social circle. When your busting your gut trying to make a career in the NRL and the stars of the team say "I want to play for a strong club"......what their really saying is "the blokes in the team are crap compared to other teams"

I wonder how their team mates really feel.
