Our weakest position - 2011 new player filler

With reports that the WTs are going to add a class player to the roster next year, as per Sheens comments, what is our weakest position, the one most needed to be filled by our next import ?.

I like Beau Ryan at Fullback, our wings are fine with the Tank and Lote and the obvious players like Farah, Lawrence etc. Maybe another prop or centre (although I don't mind Ayshford, good prospect). No real obvious gaps so what position is most likely and who?.

Backline is solid and we finally have depth in our halves. We have promising juniors coming through… after we win the comp this season we won't be able to afford another prop me thinks and will have to spend it on securing your faffitas, shirnacks etc

good point but as we get better as a team it will be easier and cheaper to get more players.

Prop. We have Galloway and Gibbs, as well as Fifita, but outside those 3 we struggle in that department. Cayless and Moors are well off the pace.

I think save the money and upgrade some contracts to keep certain players (Ellis) here.

I agree.

We have the what we need already at the club and most of them are only going to get better. If Payten moves on then a decent front rower might be a handy signing but with the like of Gibbs, Galloway and Fafita, we have our 3 topline props. Shirnack and Cayless are decent for depth, so we doing pretty good i think.

I think we've got enough of a sprinkling of class across the top now and I think we need to hang onto our money for the juniors coming through.

At the moment we've got a good mixture of:

Top class players - Benji, Farah, Ellis, Tuqiri, and Lawrence
Players that are probably just a step down from that - Gibbs, Payten, Heighington, Galloway, Ryan, Fulton, Moltzen before injury and Galloway
And youngsters - Ayshford, Fifita, Lui, Flanagan, Lazarus, Mullaney, etc

Trent Merrin from the Dragons, very tough young prop destined for big things. I know we have good props of our own, but you can never have enough good props and this kid Merrin is as good as any young prop running around. Centre is the only other spot in which we lack some depth, I wouldn`t go out and over spend on anyone, but it would be nice to identify a good up and coming centre to add some depth.

Perfect Jazza

However If we had to a Prop like Hannant

You still think so after the game against the dogs?

Someone that can kick a ball would be nice for a change

i second that. absolutely disgraceful

That Benji non-conversion was the deal breaker…seriously upsetting. :brick: ......even worse than me taking off my clothes in the bedroom with the lights on.....never a chance after that!!!!

It all depends on Galloway and how many games he strings together. No use having a strike player that only gives you half a season,if injuries are constant definatly a first class prop.
