Outside the club sponsors.

If we want to become a powerhouse of the NRL we need to find as many outside the club sponsors as we can.

Imagine the squad we could have if we played the following $200,000 each under the cap and topped up the rest of their money with outside the club sponsorship:

Farah
Marshall
Lote
Lawrence
Ellis
Galloway

You get my point. Under this system we may have kept Prince. This would free up money to recruit better players and keep all of our good juniors. The Broncos currently have 20 such deals and will be seeking more for GI and their other good young talent.

This is the direction our club should be heading in. I know we don't have the same potential market as the Broncos considering they are a one city team but surely we can be active in this area. We have built a good brand and I am sure that we could seek such sponsors. If we get it to a good enough level we could become the leading team in Sydney that players want to come to.

I believe Wests Tigers under Humphreys have been doing a great Job off the field with regard to sponsorship and Corporate earnings....In fact with reduced relience on the Leagues Clubs ....the saturated Market as Watto points out I think that the Wests Tigers are the one of the best positions of all the Sydney Club financially...

Imagine when the on-field performance match the front office......look out

I follow the English Rugby League lower divisions and I have noticed that certain players are sponsored by individual supporters and in certain cases Supporters clubs, I noted that one player was sponsored by his Junior club fans.
I'd like to suggest that we get fans from every suburb and town throughout NSW and for our QLD signed players get our Northern Tigers fans get together to sponsor individual players, if our club can't get corporate sponsors outside of the normal sponsors who I'm sure would rather support the club as a whole rather than individual players.
For example all our Qld fans could sponsor Robert Lui, our Central Coast fans could sponsor Heighno, our UK fans could sponsor Rhino, our Kiwi fans could sponsor Benji etc etc, all it takes is a few lazy Lobsters 25 fans = $2 500! per player.

Its great that we have heaps of sponsors. But what we need is more corporate support that can pay the 3rd party deals that ARE NOT included in the cap.

These types of deals are unlimited and its what the big clubs like Broncos & Storm do. Thats what stuffed the Storm up, the club guaranteed those deals which meant they were included in the cap….they were idiots for doing that.

So if we can find more sponsors that can pay these extra 3rd party deals, then it will help. Its the kind of deal Lote is on. Which is how we were able to get him.
