Sure, Pasoce let Cleary make some incredibly poor recruitment decisions but we are largely past those now.

Our football performance is not Pascoe's fault.

Our losing culture starts and stops with him.

Boy George has more culture than we do

No it starts and stops with the Board.

What does the Chief in CEO Mean then?

It means he implements what the Board wants. The Board is the company not the CEO. The CEO works for the Board.

Well paid Lacky then?

No, a well paid CEO, who implements the Boards strategic plan.

We have a plan???????????????

Dunno, but maybe that could be the problem?

Whoever is making the decisions should get themselves down the road from my place, they’re setting up a circus and I reckon Wests tigers could learn a thing or two. What a shambolic excuse for an organisation.

The Board is the constant and it is untouchable.

Losers of the round table ??

Only a couple. Some are indentured and can't be voted out, they would have to resign. So you are unable to make any realistic change to the board structure.

It means he implements what the Board wants. The Board is the company not the CEO. The CEO works for the Board.

Like you said, I'm 99% sure the CEO hires the coach at the behest of the Board. Same as the NRL CEO implements the will of the ARLC. He may make recommendations, but he can't make decisions against the board's will and he answers to the board.

The problem for everyone here is, if we indeed need a total overhaul, fine sack Pascoe, but not one person on that board will change, and they'll just hire another bloke to do the same thing that they asked the previous bloke to do.

Just take a look at the previous CEOs:
Steve Noyce 2000-2008
Scott Longmuir 2008-2009
Stephen Humphreys 2009-2013
Grant Meyer 2013-2015
Pascoe 2015-

Which one of those CEOs was independently successful? Which one achieved notable success?

Steve Noyce was the CEO when we won the comp, but within his tenure we wasted our NRL merger grants, let coaches encourage players to finger other players in the anus, lost a few players to drug convictions and made the finals 1/8 seasons.

What I'll say at the very least about Pascoe, Tigers no longer owe anyone money, the off-field is stable and the in-fighting is basically over, the finances are up, the membership are somehow at record levels, crowds are still pretty good. We have a govt-sponsored CoE being built, which even Pascoe's greatest critics admit is a pretty major coup.

So by all means sack Pascoe and get some new CEO in, but honestly be prepared for several seasons to potentially see a difference, because, again, the CEO does not completely control the roster and he doesn't coach the players. But we've had 5 CEOs so far and none of them had sustained finals success.

It’s dire now boys.

The rot has to start somewhere. Why not at the head?

And this is the problem. Watching Lee H parade around Leichhardt Oval the other week almost made me sick. He seems to be revelling in his notoriety. Maybe the Board just love the champagne behind glass and feel they have ‘made it’
If they do not have footy success burned into their souls then nothing will change and the club is not worth following really.

The current CEO has failed to achieve most of the strategic goals that were set when he took the reigns.

It's time for the board to bring in a CEO with a footy background rather than marketing.

The current CEO has failed to achieve most of the strategic goals that were set when he took the reigns.

**It's time for the board to bring in a CEO with a footy background rather than marketing**.

That’s what we miss. Pascoe has been learning on the run, hence the errors.

I really don't like Pascoe. Everything about him annoys me and always has.

But, he chose a highly regarded coach and has given him the chance to develop his own squad.

Sure, Pasoce let Cleary make some incredibly poor recruitment decisions but we are largely past those now.

Our football performance is not Pascoe's fault.

Our losing culture starts and stops with him.

They don't Steve. Not getting the boot from the comp is a success. Garbage board, accountant CEO, empathic fans.

It means he implements what the Board wants. The Board is the company not the CEO. The CEO works for the Board.

I'm 99% sure the CEO hires the coach at the behest of the Board. Same as the NRL CEO implements the will of the ARLC.

!00% spot on.

I’d still take 1 premiership in every 8 years

Well the irony for you is you'd need to let Pascoe have another 2-2.5 years to see if we could get one, because he's only 6 years in.

Not if we’d have kept Noyce
