Coote is signed until the end of 2014\. Either way, they've got no use fro Moltzen at FB, seeing as Gordon (the "backup" FB) is absolutly killing it atm. The could definatly use Moltzen at 5/8 though.

Sorry that was not suppose to be serious . Just don't want Sheens to put Moltzen at Fullback anymore . Coote is looking at getting out of Penrith though
 
Well if he doesn't sign with the Tigers what chance do you think we have of making the eight then ?? Should they look at releasing him from the rest of this year if he does sign with Penrith ???
 
While Sheens is pondering his future Hope he is worrying about the NOW A game against Canberra which well may decide our season Make a decision Tim so you and the team can concentrate on Sunday
 
If Sheens is so bad then why have other clubs busted it to get him on board.

I dont see him staying here unfortunately and the best of the rest have been snapped up.

I think I would freak if we ended up with Nathan Brown or Daniel Anderson

Australian coach Tim Sheens has been offered a $2 million four-year deal to quit Wests Tigers and join his old club Penrith. And The Daily Telegraph has learned Wests Tigers' management has set a weekend deadline for Sheens to decide his future.

Insiders are suggesting Sheens' offer from Penrith is worth about $500,000 a year - big money for a club supposedly battling financial problems.

The Wests Tigers board rubber-stamped Sheens' extension at the club nearly two weeks ago, but that contract was never signed. Wests Tigers' deal for Sheens is worth $410,000 a season over four years - two more as coach and an additional two as Tigers' coaching director.

Just last week, English powerhouse Wigan also had a nibble at Sheens.For weeks now Sheens has been close to committing to the Tigers, but the Panthers offer may gazump them.

Penrith's board this week told coach Matt Elliott his contract would not be renewed after this season. It seems likely Elliott will head to England, possibly with Salford.

Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys said: "Tim and I spoke at length [Tuesday] about this. We agreed it would

be best to have an outcome this week. I am not sure what that outcome will be but I am sure we will get a decision this week," Humphreys added."I am confident Tim will stay but other clubs have shown interest in lucrative terms. Tim will weigh that up and we will see what happens."

Asked if Wests Tigers has a plan B, Humphreys said: "Not really, although we do have three well-credentialled coaches at the club [Steve Folkes, Grant Jones and Peter Gentle].

"Each of these three would come into consideration. We are a strong club with a strong roster.

"I don't think we would have much trouble recruiting a coach. But hopefully Tim will stay and all that will be academic."

Sheens would be welcomed home with open arms by Panthers fans. He is a Penrith stalwart who coached the Panthers to the club's first finals series in 1985.He coached Penrith between 1984 and 1987 before linking with Canberra.

He is also an ex-Panthers prop, playing 166 first-grade games between 1970-1982.

Other coaches in the mix at Penrith include current assistant Steve Georgallis, Nathan Brown, Mick Potter and Ricky Stuart.

Manly coach Des Hasler, a former Panthers halfback, had been quietly touted but he is ready to accept a new deal keeping him at Brook- vale through to 2014.

Panthers players have vowed to turn their season around for Elliott, starting with the Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium on Sunday.

after watching the Video, i dont see what the problem is.. he said he expects his players to keep the contract talks to them selves. Tim keeps things close to his chest and lets nothing out of the bag and he is doing the same thing now..

I think he is going to sign with us, for a number of strong reasons.. but him not commenting is a good thing..

and he is right.. none of anyones business except his and the Tigers…

Gotta agree with you Troy, it's better for himself and all involved if he didn't comment for the simple reason he can think with a clear head without anyone throwing their two cents in to make things worse. This is a huge decision for him because he has to weigh up his commitments to his family and also to his staff and the players he has a relationship with.
 
Already done deal. Panthers have press conference tomorrow at 11am.Steve Folkes to take over at Tigers on a two year deal.
 
Why to which bit T REXX If you mean the first question Teams are notorious for falling in a hole once their coach is leaving as they know to a degree they won't be held responsible for the rest of season as they can blame coach to a degree . And the second question relates to first question If we are worried that the team will underachieve because Sheens signs with someone else if you were going to get someone internal ie Gentle or Folkes that you may as well make the change asap instead of next year . Just putting it out there Was the first thing that crossed my mind
 
Most of the players seem to hold Sheens in high regard, if he was to leave I'm sure they would want to try and send him out a winner. I don't think it would be an issue.
 
Penrith might throw a bit more money @ him but i think sheens will show some loyalty to the players who showed loyalty to him who could of gone elsewhere, Farah knocked back the coast, benji could of gone anywhere @ lawrence could of gone to the dogs & rhino could of gone to the dragons. Tim to stay. :sign:
 
plus he is signed on to be a coaching director after his coaching. to me that means he is happy with the club, close to the players and overall happy with the way the ship is running.. and wants to be part of it..

i reckon you are right rexx. i just cany see sheens walking away from potentially a club that will be a real force for a few years to come, and a team that he has gone a long way to developing.
