Having worked inside the club for the first 5 years of his tenure, one thing I know is Sheens is VERY loyal. All u Fitzy haters can attest to this fact!!
My money is on him staying.

Simple fact is that similar to Bennett, Sheens wants 4 years as an NRL coach - that is why he is considering the Penrith deal, and why he baulked at signing with WT a month ago when the official offer was tabled. Bennett knocked the Broncos back because they only offered him two years and he a wanted 3-4 yr deal.
Don't be fooled by the "Coaching Director" gig. that type of role has never worked - which NRL coach would want the previous Head Coach/Australian Coach/NRL Games record holder sitting above them, offering them 'guidance'? the Coaching Director offer is a smokescreen to bump the deal up to four years. The WT know that Sheens will never take that role on and that he will want to continue coaching after 2013\. The 'Coaching Director' offer is the WT's saying that they want him for 2 yrs only. Simple as that

Really, what else would he say? "Yeah I don't care if my current coach stays or not, to be honest I don't rate him and would be happy for him to go!"

If Sheens goes we should get Matt Elliott. At least he is entertaining - he was on fire last night on the Footy Show!

I bet the bug man is praying for Harry to come through with the cash.

It'll be like a divorce if Sheens leaves. He'll have nothing to complain about. I felt the same way when Johnny Cronk left.
 
Has it crossed anyone's mind that Sheens may be using the Panthers offer to increase or change the contract that the Tigers has offered . i personally don't think it is the dough so much as the 2 years as coach 2 years as coaching director he's not happy about . I think if club matches Penrith offer he will stay even if it was 100k - 200k short
 
this should have all been sorted out during the offseason. i thought after making it to week 3 of the finals last year sheens would have been offered a deal to stay until the end of 2012

Probably means he doesn't want to share the limelight with the royal wedding.
Seriously wouldn't surprise me if thats the reason.
I don't usually bag sheens but he is really starting to irk me now. i'm not sure i really care if he goes or not, depending on who we get to replace him. but he is stuffing the club around on this big time!

I'd say that it's an indication he doesn't want to stay at the club. We give him a deadline, he doesn't stick to it. Not a good look.
