STORM PLAN FOR LIFE AFTER SLATER
\

Ryan Papenhuyzen (C) has signed with the Storm.
MELBOURNE have begun planning for life after Billy Slater by signing boom Wests Tigers fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen to a long-term deal from next season. No less than six clubs were chasing his services.
>
The move could point to signs the Tigers are closing in on re-signing in-form fullback James Tedesco, having secured Moses Suli on a $1.3 million three-year deal.
>
Papenhuyzen is considered one of the best prospects in the Holden Cup. A noted speedster, he is just three centimetres taller than Slater and only 76kg so he will need to bulk up. The 18-year-old Tigers junior won the Harold Matthews award for best player in the under-16s competition and has also represented the Australian Schoolboys and NSW at under-16 and under-18 level.

Pretty disappointing tbh.

Also how good is "in-form fullback James Tedesco"

Yeah DT, he's in good form. Way to describe the best fullback in the game.

Yep disappointing.

Disapointing of course but he's not gonna play fullback here and at 76kg we couldn't put him on the wing or in the centres.

Good luck to him

If it means we keep all 5 of our superstars no one will really care

Again just potential at this stage , a long way from being a proven NRL superstar

Can't hang on to them all but yeah, all signs point towards Teddy staying which is more more important at this stage.

Very disappointing and not good enough by management. If we are a so called development club, why do we let one of our best go?

Because we have other options in the same position Paws who look far closer to being ready

Do you always look for reasons to have a potshot at Taylor and Go

Can we now add Kelly Egan to the list ….

Because we need money to keep a player in the same position who has shown he is one of the best in the actual NRL, not just juniors? Do you support any decisions made by the club?

How long term DT?

Can't keep them all boys and let's face it, you can't prioritise him over anyone in our squad - yes of course except for Rankin and Lovett.

But if losing him let's us contribute to retaining one of the big 4, he was worth the sacrifice.

I don't support poor decisions and this is a very poor decision. Tedesco is one knee injury away from being finished and we should have a succession plan in place. Apparently management do not agree.

Very sorry to se him go. He looks like a good first grader in the making. However Teddy has his best years ahead of him. So he'd have to setttle for an outside backs position. If we're throwing money at an outside back, I'd throw it at Moses Suli ..like they have done. Suli can play wing and centre and is ready to go now.

You have absolutely no idea how much money was involved in the deal and yet you're prepared to label this a "very poor decision" by management. You're just a management hating muppet.

Nofoaluma wouldn't be a good fit at fullback if Tedesco went down with a career ending injury ??

Papenhuyzen has had injury issues as well , did you notice that ??

Wow..I'm wondering now how we managed to sign Suli…

We didn't , he had a twister spinner and it pointed at Pascoe

Just got real lucky

I believe the Fantastic Five are going to play spin the bottle to decide who they sign with

Might even seal it with a kiss
