How anyone could think any of these could be a good signing for us is beyond belief.

 Yeah….coz we are a team choc full of great players aren't we.

And the guys on that list are any better? yeah we're really are crying out for Luke Kelly and Ken Sio aren't we? 2014 premiership here we come

I can't recall mentioning going after Kelly and Sio :unamused:
I would have a look at Willie Tonga- he would be at least as good as Lawrence and Ayshford at this stage of their careers. Maitua would have to be at least as good as BMM also.
Look at what the Storm do, they don't recruit too many superstars recently, so if we can sniff out another clubs discard for the right price so be it.

Wow 2 players out of a list of about 12 and you laugh at my comment, which btw im still scratching my head over, seeing as how no player on that list is any better than anyone in our squad. Can't really see the humor, its not like any are Origin players for gods sake. Majority are average first graders at best.

I'm sure we'd really be better off with Matitua, and Willie Tonga, a guy who was past his peak 5 yrs ago. NOT!!!

Maitua's big problem is his work rate is quite low, so he is inconsistent. The only good (or great) game I can recall him playing so far this year is Round One, Warriors, when they thrashed them 40-something.

I wouldn't be targeting ANY of their so called 12 players to be honest. What concerns me of this situation is you can bet your life Parra will come knocking for a few our young nyc/SG Ball tyros. I doubt they'd have any luck with Brooks but Moses I know is of interest to them and I bet there's others too they will tempt. The best batch of youngsters coming through for them are still 16-17 yrs old, so they're still a few years off.

Moses is a parra junior.

Moses is a Balmain junior. Played his first three years for Carlingford Cougars then went to Parra catholic comp. From there he went to Toonie Tigers until he was signed for the Tigers a couple of years ago. He did play Harold Mats for Parramatta.

So you reckon that Lawrence and Ayshford's best is yet to come? 😱pen_mouth:
Tonga played Origin not that many years ago, not saying he's a worldbeater. Lawrence is going downhill faster than Zali Stegall.

id say he was a balmain and parra junior then

No, but id take Lawrence with 1 leg over Tonga with 2

Really? At least Tonga could outrun Daryl Brohman over 100 metres. At their peak Lawrence was a much better player than Tonga but now I doubt it.

I been saying for ages Lawrence can be a success in the back row. For that reason he's still a better option than Tonga imo. As far as Ayshford goes, i thought before his injury he was getting back to where he was in 10-11.

I wouldn't worry about losing those two to Parra. They've both got the same manager (Moses' brother), who is looking keeping them together & after the way he was treated by them following Harold Matthews, Moses will never go back there.

In saying that, if I was the board putting Mayer in their even temporarily, I'd say his absolute number one priority was contracting these two long term.

As for clean outs, there are a few players who we would need to shed, but I can't see a dozen players who HAVE to be cut for us to be competitive. Our side this year at full strength is good enough to finish top 6, so cut the bits of fat and invest in the great junior group we've got coming through.

top 6 is a bit much, at full strength we can maaybe sneak inside the 8\. I know we got flogged first round, but this season has been full of floggings and that was away with potter's debut game as a nrl coach. We got significantly better up until Storm when injuries REALLY hit.

parra need the clean out the players that stuart has are not entirely, he's had more time to set up his team than potter how he likes it, they are getting - hopoate, norman, hock, mossop already for next year. they will have a very decent backline

1\. hayne
2\. sio
3\. loko
4\. hopoate
5\. ???
6\. norman
7\. sandow

8\. mannah
9\. kingston
10\. moi moi
11\. hock
12\. mossop
13\. terepo

a very handy team that ricky stuart can work with theree and obviously he will be making some other signings

we need to go down the similar path and bring in fresh faces to change the way things run coaching staff and players. potter needs time to bring in who he wants and he is getting a good chance to see which young players are going to follow his plans now and who isnt which can allow him to work on for next year. i think we have all come to realise that this year we can right off but that doesnt mean we can afford to slacken as a team and as supporters
